Would my heart be healthy if I have a normal ECG, normal bloods and a normal chest X ray?, I had these test last months, I should feel relieved with those test results but scared the hospital missed something

Those aren't exhaustive / all encompassing tests to evaluate heart health, but those tests being clear means there is no apparent structural abnormality (e.g. enlarged heart), the ECG would pick up an arrhythmia if it's happening during the test, etc.

Do you have reasons to genuinely worry about your heart health? Or is this just a source of anxiety for you, with no medically genuine reason to worry?

Thanks for the reply, last Month I thought I was having a heart attack, symptoms were chest pains, went up to hospital and done the test, all was normal. They put me on iprofon for a week, the chest pains are not as bad as now But still have the fear that something is not right, my doctor says nothing is wrong and most case scenario is axienty.. now I'm feeling my pulse all over my body, I just Don't know what to do anymore

What about your overall state of health, and family history? Do you drink / smoke, do drugs, have a poor diet, obesity, sedentary lifestyle, age, etc? Do you have immediate family history of early heart disease?

I'm 16
Never had any medical conditions
Don't drink
don't smoke or do drugs
Not the best diets if I'm honest
Average weight
should be doing more exercise
No heart disease in my family as I know off but my late grandad did had a heart attack at the age of 70 but he was a heavy smoker and drinker.

Ahhh you're waaaaay too young to worry about this stuff! Even with those answers and being 45+ years old I'd say your chances are extremely slim. But at 16? No friggin' way! If you have a congenital heart defect (which I'm assuming you don't because of the testing you've had) then your risk might be a bit elevated. But again, no way in hell, IMO. Please don't waste your years worrying about this stuff. I'm 34 with a few risk factors (smoker, not so ideal cholesterol levels, family history of early heart disease) but my cardiologist says even I don't need to worry, and unless something changes he doesn't need to see me until I'm at least 40-45.

I’ve had health anxiety for a long, long time. Heart health was one of my issues. But here I still am 40 or so years later, heart is fine. Your worry is based on zero facts, doctor visit showed nothing. It’s anxiety, plain and simple. And it’s treatable. “ It’s Only Anxiety” by Carl James on Amazon, $11. Get the book. Follow the instructions. You are too young to go thru the rest of your life like this.

I have heart anxiety as well. I have had every test and everything is fine. I am 43, overweight, and high normal triglycerides, but my heart is great. Completely normal. Therapy will be a great thing for you. I did cognitive therapy and it helped so much. If you are willing to do the "homework" it will help!!

I have health anxiety as well, and have been to the ER 5x in the past 2 months with chest pains and a headache, thinking that I may have something wrong with my heart or head. Each time all results came back normal and enzymes were good. They ruled it anxiety each time. After my last visit I decided to go to intensive therapy which I started last week and I also see an individual counselor through “better help” (don’t know if that’s allowed to be posted in here). But I don’t have to leave my home and we video chat once a week. Before therapy I would obsess over checking my blood pressure, heart rate, and O2 thinking that something was wrong. I have now slowed down on doing that because I’m learning that we bring a lot of panic on ourselves by constantly overthinking. It seems so hard when you’re going through an acute attack but therapy really helps. I’m really happy I found this forum and any way I can help anyone I’m open to it!

I've gone to the ER twice for chest pain. The attending ER suggested a consult with a GI which I did, turns out I have silent reflux/Barrett's esophagus. I never knew that reflux could cause chest pain, I always associated it with heartburn. Was put on omeprazole and don't experience it much anymore. It could also be esophageal spasm.

Hi again, been having thoughts today and now I'm back in to worry mode, over the last few weeks I've been having a hard heartbeat like I can feel my heart beat in different places on my body, I don't know how to describe it

thats textbook anxiety buddy. you dont have to worry. if they did those tests on you, plus you're young and have no risk factors, youre okay. you're just having anxiety. are you in therapy? do you take any meds? they could help you.

Everytime you get those thoughts, you should tell yourself - "Maybe I do, Maybe I don't have heart problems" and get on with your day. You will super anxious at first but over time you learn to accept the uncertainty. Also you're 16, nothing abnormal in your test, you're fine.

I know, my pulse feels normal but when I put my hand on my chest, it just doesn't feel right

Hand on chest isn't a great way to feel the pulse / rhythm anyhow. I can't even feel mine at all in my chest.

At your age chest pain is ten thousand times more likely to be due to something like acid reflux or chostrocondritis than anything to do with the heart.

When I was in my twenties I had an attack of chostrocondritis and the pain was 100% identical to descriptions of a heart attack. Like someone was pushing a knife into the centre of my chest, all the way through to my back. When the doc diagnosed chostrocondritis and prescribed ibuprofen the relief was incredible.

Yippers! I had an abnormal ECG months ago. That still doesn't mean anything is abnormal! It can easily be just the way your heart beats and can be benign. Most are. Yippers you should feel satisfied! Prayers
