Is it normal to be easily tired out from doing work stuff for an hour and a half?

I got 9 hours of sleep and felt alright but after being on a call with someone to work on a project I just felt like I could doze off again. Is this because of social anxiety goin on for an hour and a half? Anxiety churning in the background? I’m kinda confused.

It's a normal anxiety symptom. I can sleep all night and still wanna sleep all day! I just feel so exhausted all the time. It really sucks!!!

yeah I don't know if it's as much of an anxiety symptom as depression or something else but I would say it's common. I feel tired most of the time honestly. I'm not sure if this is a good thing but sometimes when I sleep less like 6 hours I would feel better than if I slept 8 to 9 hours

It's suggested that occasionally sleeping less (such as 6 hours or less) can actually act as an antidepressant, because it somehow increases dopamine production. They say it'll gradually wear off if you continue to do so, but sometimes it may actually be beneficial. I'm with you though. I often sleep less than 8 hours, and I tend to feel better as well.

I often wonder if we realise how much energy anxiaty takes up. It's what Dr, Weekes called 'a tiredness beyond tiredness'. It is nervous exhaustion. We could run for miles, and in normal circumstances feel exhausted but at the same time happy about the run. It passes and we forget about it, but not so with nervous exhaustion. We always suspect the worse and worry all the more which adds more anxiety and thus more tiredness.
Nervous anxiety is not caused by physical exertion but a mental one. Nervous exhaustion can be as tiring as a physical one. Even more so at times. It invariably goes with GAD or a more specufic cause such as PTSD. Even social anxiety can cause it. Trying to appear 'normal' when with others can be very tiring. It does pass as we improve.

Yes, it’s normal to feel easily tired from work, especially if you’re dealing with anxiety or other mental health challenges. It’s important to listen to your body and take breaks when needed to avoid burnout. Prioritizing self-care and pacing yourself can make a big difference.
