Hi guys, I have a really bad anxiety problem with stuff like this, and usually overthink a lot about it, but 5 days ago I was walking around with my dad in daylight and found this on my leg after we got to the car, I looked around before then cause I think bats are out there to bite me, but would I have felt it bite or scratch me?09430BBA-6048-4D14-9C35-67F1ED694B13.jpeg26365E1D-1026-4A87-94C5-C106E51B0247.jpeg
I told everyone I know and they say I’m fine but I worry still

I didn’t scrape it on anything
If you didn’t scrape it on anything Did you get bitten by a bat? If you didn’t then I’d say you’re fine. It does look like a scrape. Definitely not a bite

I didn’t see or feel anything so it shouldn’t be one then right?

When I touch it, it doesn’t hurt but it’s been tingly for 4 days

Had you been bitten by a bat, you wouldn’t have to ask. It would be obvious. Looks more like you scratched it. How long are you going to torment yourself with this nonsense? Help is available if you only reach out and take it.

Do you want to be like other people who are obsessed with bat bites? Or do you want to be free of the mental anguish anxiety causes? I think these are the more important questions to ask yourself. I would say the same to all the other posters on here. It’s not about what everybody else does, it’s about how you want to live. Think about it. If ten people in front of you were walking off a cliff, would you just follow them or would you question your choice? To walk off the cliff or not? Just because ten others did it. Think for yourself, don’t follow the crowd off the cliff.

I’m trying not be like the other people obsessed with bat bites, but it’s just whenever I go out and suddenly just start feeling weird around my leg area I always suspect if it’s a bat, I also don’t realize that bats would have to land on you and bite then take off, that would be pretty noticeable but I’ve never seen one before, it just worries me

Bats are nocturnal. They come out to feed at night. They have built in sonar that allows them to zero in on their prey, which are flying bugs in the air. That leaves you out of their sonar scope, you are too big. Bats don’t go around looking to bite us, their interest is in mating and feeding on bugs. I know you know your fear is irrational. If you want to overcome it, research Dr Claire Weekes and her method of acceptance for overcoming irrational fear/anxiety. It is a highly effective method but it takes time, patience and persistence in practicing the method. If you stick with it, you will get results.
