What is your worst fear?
Are you on medication?

If you have ever received bad news (blood work, lab results, tests, etc.) how did you handle it? Was it harder/easier than you expected to get bad news, given your health anxiety? And recovering/healing - has it been better/worse than you imagined it?

I feel like we play things up in our heads SO much, and then if we ever do get bad news, it's not nearly as bad as we expect it to be in the end.

Also, does anyone here have a medication anxiety? I literally can't take ANY meds without having a meltdown about it first. I went and got myself some gummy vitamins A WEEK AGO and I can't bring myself to take one because I am afraid I'm going to have a reaction to it or something. Anyone else?

So I do not have health anxiety I guess mine is just considered general anxiety..but my biggest fear is the people that I love either getting hurt or dying and me not being able to help..until I was put on Zoloft it was all I could think about and it was just breaking me down.. I have been on Zoloft a little over 5 weeks and it has helped so much.. I was also prescribed Xanax and trazadone and I am scared to take both of them.. I have taken Xanax a couple of times but I have not taken trazadone at all... I even got some valerian root supplements to help me sleep and that was over a week ago and I have still not opened them.

The doctor tried to prescribe me Hydroxazine (sp?) and Buspar. I didn't even get them filled. I've taken Celexa before, so when she prescribed the other two about a year ago, I just never filled them. I'll stick with Celexa. It's so sad to me, that medicine that MIGHT actually help me, causes me MORE anxiety than I've got at the moment. Ugh. I feel like I can't win this some days!

Sounds like you do have GAD, which I have as well, about normal day to day things. I have a lot of scenarios playing in my head constantly, a lot of "what ifs" mainly about my kids, but pertaining to other life things as well. I am so stuck inside of my own head most of the time. It sucks. :(

I was on Lexapro, Xanax and trazadone for over 10 years. I also have GAD. My suggestion is to not worry about trazadone. It was great for helping me sleep. Xanax is a bit stronger drug and I wouldn't feel comfortable telling you whether to take it or not. Didn't have any trouble with it and found it very effective but it is very addictive above a certain dosage.

Yea my dad has been on trazadone for 20+ years and he has never had an issue with it...my doctor says id be fine on it but of course I read reviews while I was still really messed up and all of the bad reviews are just stuck in my head.. I only take the Xanax if I absolutely need to but I haven't had to take one in a couple of weeks

Supposedly the addiction level for Xanax is a dosage over 1.5mg/day. Any dosage less shouldn't cause withdrawal symptoms if you stop taking it but you still need to get off of it slowly.

I never took it enough to have any withdrawls. I would cut it into quarters because I full one knocked me out completely and made me really drowsy and half knocked me out to so I was only able to take a little at a time.

I just can't bring myself to take anything. I'd rather deal with regular anxiety, than RAMPED UP anxiety because I took a pill and I'm scared it's going to kill me. No thanks.

Oh sweetheart that is exactly how i am. I cant take anything without thinking i am dying from it. I havent had ibuprofen in 6 months. My first panic attack happened 6 months ago. I am currently on lexopro and clonazepam and i only take the clonazepam when a panic attack happens because i think it will bring my blood pressure down to low. Which is ridiculous. I eat extremely healthy only to keep my body healthy. I worked in the medical field and i think it started because i saw to much death so its why i take care of my self and now i cant even work. I go see a therapist and she tells me how amazing i am for finding ways to deal with everything and i am just like really? I cant work and i cant function without worrying all the time. The meds do help though and i know i would be way worse off without them. Meditation really helps also and just always remember its all in your head. Meds help you i have seen patients on 15 plus meds and they are still going strong so i think our little meds are nothing compaired to that. A body can take ALOT. Thats helps me to remember that. Sending you love and light sweetheart
