Been dealing with health anxiety for three months after going to the ER three months ago. I thought I was having a heart attack but after all the test came back normal it was a panic attack. I worry all the time about my heart even though Drs have told me that I’m ok and that my heart is good. I have a hard time sleeping cause I’m worrying about my heart and I feel skipped heartbeats. I get tightness on the left side of my chest and a burning feeling. I take medicine for my anxiety. I don’t know what to do.

Hi and welcome Tngirl. All of the symptoms you've described easily fall into the many physical sensations anxiety can cause. If you're able, although much easier said than done, to accept these symptoms as just anxiety messing with you, they actually lessen in both severity and frequency. Can I ask what kind of medication you're taking for it? Again, welcome. This is a good group of folks with very similar difficulties that you're experiencing.

I am taking buspar 15mg twice a day. It it starting to help some. My anxiety is worse at night. I have tried so many medicines to help me sleep but they made me feel my heartbeat all over my body. I don’t like that feeling. I will sleep a couple of hours and wake up then sleep a couple more hours and wake up. I haven’t had a good night sleep in three months.

Hi again Tngirl. My anxiety is worse in the mornings but I no longer generally have any difficulty sleeping unless I've had a panic attack shortly before going to sleep. I took Buspar for awhile but it didn't seem to help me. Some people do very well on Buspar, I hope you end up being one of them. All I can say is that sleep is so important in the anxiety battle so don't be afraid to take naps if you can.

You are not alone. Welcome. this is a good site. Triceps has good advice. I don't know much about busbar . But sleep is important so if you can nap that would help. I am sure there are people on here with good suggestions. I hope you are having a better day.

Well TNGIRL, i can SURE relate to u, as many others here can too. Rosy is totally correct about this site! The right place sure feels good when the "usureness" kicks in, and u are here! How better to chat with people that feel the same as u! The people here are fantastic and will help u thru many issues.

I, like rosy dont have experience with buspar, but i do have experience with lack of sleep from anxiety. I haven't found a ssri that i could take because of side effects and other things. Something will help u, thats for sure...u just gotta find the right thing. Im still tryin different things to help me sleep with little success, so stay in touch if u find something and i will do the same. We all will help each other thru trial and error if nothing else :)

Keep checking in, and keep up the good fight with us!

hey @Tngirl1 , theres some good people on here who can offer so much helpful advice, that makes you feel at ease relating to people with such identical symptoms. I myself suffer health anxiety like crazy, i've been this way for about 18 months. Sometimes i feel like my heartbeat is pounding so hard, and i start to panic about some form of condition. I've had countless doctors visits to get them to check, and blood tests , x rays , etc etc just everything because i havnt been able to convince myself that actually , i'm okay. it's constantly searching for reassurance, but the best advice, is to have these checks to help you relax when the answers come back okay, and dont be afraid to talk to the doctors about your anxiety, they will help you to understand why you feel this way, and looking for online forums like this, really do help alot too ! remember though, most importantly, there is nothing wrong with you , it's the hardest thing in the world to convince yourself of that, but in time, you learn to instantly dismiss your negative thoughts. We are here for you.
