For those who havent seen my previous post. Im young(20) female, normal weight. 5'8 and 144 pounds. I have been working on staying under 2000 mg of sodium per day and exercising more. I have extremely bad anxiety, especially about blood pressure. Every time im about to take my blood pressure I literally feel dizzy from the anxiety. Idk how to calm myself down to take it. I have been recording some of my readings daily, which has me convinced that it is not white coat hypertension :( I went to the doctor for a UTI and they took my blood pressure twice and told me to go back to my primary doctor to get checked, that it didnt look like white coat. The first time it was 149/110 and then it was 144/110.
Then i have been taking it with my at home blood pressure monitor that is my parents because they both just recently got diagnosed with high blood pressure.
6/4: 159/92
6/5:155/92
6/8: 150/104
6/9: 149/94.
i try to take it every day but some days i am to anxious to even make the reading. This is consuming my every thought and stressing me out 24/7. I had a grandfather who recently died from a whole mess of problems including kidney failure, which is freaking me out even more. What else can i do?

A couple of things come to mind.
First : before you take your reading,go to a secluded area of your home with out sound .
Second: uncross your legs because that forces the blood to flow faster because your putting pressure on ylthe arteries of your legs.
Third: breathe, and clear your mind ,don't think about the upcoming reading. I think that because of your family woes with this health issue.. you have "anticipatory anxiety ". And you should think about something else besides your blood pressure reading.
During a reading....think of other things....it weird but, I often say to myself off the wall words like... car,bus,house,etc..and all those types of words.
These tips may be weird but, for me......they work.
Try it and let me know how it worked for you.
