Worried about food.

This morning I went to get donuts. I was eating a creme filled one and some of the cream dropped out on to my shirt. Without thinking I took my finger and dipped it off and ate it. Then I realized it was actually sitting on top of the chest part of my seat belt. I didn't think it was a big deal until I realized that part of the belt goes all the way down in to the housing compartment beneath the seat itself.

I noticed I had a funny, kind of stale taste in my mouth. Now I'm worried there might have been some chemical or metal shavings or something on it.

What are the chances this makes me sick?

What are they chances of two days in a row within a 24 period something like that happening? Better chance of getting struck by lightning and winning the lottery both at the same time.

Nah. Even if that stuff was there, it wouldn't hurt you. The old saying is true: moderation is key. Haha! But seriously, we all unknowingly ingest miniscule amounts of all sorts of crazy stuff and we're fine. Life goes on. I also agree with @E.B

All the things we would do as kids. Dropping some food. Picking it back up and eating it. Mind you we used to bless it first. Those were the days. Some even had the 10 second rule. Pick it up before 10 seconds and it was ok to eat.

As someone who's work involves a lot of touching different things Im still ok. Thank of mechanics who have all kinds of oil, fuels, etc...and eat lunch and survive...and countless amounts of other occupations

Yep, exactly. I used to work in warehouse/manufacturing environments, and sometimes couldn't wash my hands before eating lunch. After touching all those boxes and equipment, I'd grab a sandwich or whatever else and just eat it. No harm done.
