So I woke up my heart rate is high and I'm scared. I woke up and I think I didn't unlock my knees when I was sleeping. Sounds odd but I think that's what happened and due to the heart rate thing I feel like I can't breathe and my heart rate is through the roof. It scares me. Idk has anyone ever felt this before? Its making me feel like I can't even try to relax rn.

Things are never going to change for you until you get help. Imagine a life without all your problems? It can happen. If you get help.

Couldn't tell you but it was really really fast to me. I felt sick to my stomach and like I could barely breathe. The people in my home move stuff around and I couldn't go and look for the pulse machine even if I wanted to.

Eh, very possible it wasn't as fast as you thought it was. That happens to me sometimes. I've felt like my heart is absolutely racing and it's actually only about 80 BPM. Sounds like you just woke up severely anxious, which does happen sometimes.

I mean I felt like when I slept my legs were also locked. Maybe that had something to do with it? Idk. I was half asleep but my heart was racing so I jumped out of bed.

Possibly. What you describe sounds like any ol' anxiety I've heard of and experienced myself.

I guess so. I have therapy coming up soon. Should help. Until then I guess I'll just keep feeling like I can't breathe.

Still don't know. I posted here and some other places and no one gave me a real answer. Still scared about it.
What, in your estimation, would constitute a "real answer"? I don't believe anyone on here is a medical doctor.

You know, you make a lot of posts asking for help, one after the other in rapid succession about all sorts of symptoms and worries, but I don't see any from you offering help, comfort or advice in anyone else's threads. Helping others is very beneficial you know. It's literally therapeutic.

You woke up scared adrenaline kicked in and your heart started racing. It's totally normal for that type of reaction when you become scared. The best thing to do is not over think it and try to calm down. If it happens again to you do not overreact and try not to let it freak you out to much.

How is your hunt for a therapist going?

Found one. I have my doubts about this particular therapist but we shall see. Sometime next week
Speaking from experience, you need to find a therapist you trust and like, otherwise you won't believe a word they say. You also need to be willing to get help, I've started therapy too soon before, and it was just wasted sessions, try and prepare yourself beforehand by practising mindfulness, or looking up CBT techniques :)

See I would help others. But obviously I'm in a terrible place. Off my meds, no therapy. Depression sinking in as well. I mean obviously I'm in a bad place. I feel like my "advice" would help just about no one. How can I reassure someone if I can't even so the same for myself?

That is so true. We do need to be willing to get help. It may sound surprising, but some folk don't really want help. There is a certain comfort in being seen as ill. We get attention which maybe we would not otherwise get. As for counselling, yes, it is very important to have trust in your helper and to be open about how you feel. But when you do find a good one keep at it. So many give up because there are no immediate results. It takes time and patience.
