You know the health experts have said that all the normal illness you might get during the Winter months are not out there this year due to people wearing masks and social distancing. In the same breath they said Covid numbers are high due to people not social distaancing and not wearing masks. But I did ask about the regular flu. What would happen to it with the pandemic. Would it show up as Covid? Still something I wonder about. As nobody seems to have had it at all. Like it has vanished all of a sudden.
Yeah, that's pretty strange. I wondered what the normal cold/flu season would mean during the pandemic as well.

Can only hope things stay mild for you. The mild version seems to be similar to the normal flu. We have heard of famous names getting it and then they are better within a week. Like when / if Trump really had it. He was in and out of hospital in record timing. I called his version the posh version. All the big names seemed to have gotten that version. Better in a few days. Here's hoping you have the posh version. That it doesn't get any worse for you and your family.
I don't want to speak too soon, but at this point it seems everything will go well. Thanks!

Flu in the US comes to us from other countries, just like Covid did. It’s passed around the world by people traveling. That is why they base our flu vaccine on strains seen in the Southern Hemisphere. The steep decline in international travel over the summer/fall AND wearing masks and distancing, explains the significant decline in flu cases.

How’s he doing? Any updates
All good here. Still just lacking taste/smell, and the rest of us still don't have any symptoms. My fiancee got tested this morning and it was negative. She has Crohn's and receives periodic infusions for it, so her immune system isn't great. On top of that, she felt awful yesterday, but apparently it was just one of those days where her body was just tired.

I’m no dr but it seems like you’re out of the woods. Or atleast reaching the edge of the woods. Great to hear.

I agree, thank you. I think it's 5-7 days on average, then you're basically clear. We're somewhere around day 4 or 5, based on when the symptom actually began. So yeah, I think so.

We're good, thanks! Everything seems to be back to normal!
That’s great news. I’m so glad to hear that. The positive side (no pun intended lol) of this is now you guys have the antibodies for a couple of months!

I don't even put any faith in that. Haha. I'm just glad to be past it. Thanks for checking! I hope you're doing well lately.

Not at all. I’m going through a major HA episode right now. I’ll be posting soon.

My wife and daughter had covid last November. I never had it then, but had it last month. Im 48 high BP. Mild hypertension but not on meds yet. My main symptom was fatigue. Alot of fatigue. So dont over stress. My dad also had it. His nearly 80. He ploughed though it. As a precaution start taking vitamins. C and D.

Hey bin_tenn,

99% sure I have covid. Not even really bothered by it honestly. Someone in my bowling league had it. Started showing symptoms about a week ago. Nothing horrible. Mild headache, mild sore throat, very very mild fever. Thing worst part is probably the no smell or taste. How long did it take your son to get over that? It sucks. I've been going around my house trying to smell everything to no avail, lol

Sounds like the ugly case of COVID, sorry to hear this. That’s what my husband had, the symptoms.

Sorry to hear that, and I hope you feel well soon. The kiddo recovered fully a little under two weeks after initially losing smell/taste.

I'm not even bothered really. I don't really feel that sick. I mean... it's not a wonderful feeling that I would look forward to. But honestly, it's nowhere near as bad as I feared. I am still fully functional. I actually just got off the treadmill. My biggest complaint is that I can't taste my coffee in the morning lol... ah well

Honestly, I'm almost relieved. I feel like everyone in the world is going to get it at some point. I'd kinda prefer to just get it and get it over with and if this is as bad as it gets then so be it. I've gone to work much sicker than this. I know everyone's body is different but for me, I think I'm in the home stretch. I was exposed last Friday (12 days ago) and have been displaying mind symptoms for a tad over a week. It's really not bad. I had one day that was a little meh but for the most part is just felt like a mild cold.
