For the past couple years, around Columbus Day I'll go back and do some more reading on Columbus and/or other explorers. I've read the Travels of Marco Polo in the past, but this is a modern biography. I also finished a book by Gavin Menzies who did a lot research and writing on the possible, ancient voyages of Chinese mariners..

I’m balancing a lot of books right now, but I’m currently reading Perfume by Patrick Suskind, Hitler by Joachim C. Fest and Himmler by Peter Longerich. All are really good, Particularly Perfume. I only ever read non-fiction so it’s a nice change.

I think I saw this set on Amazon. It's like a 4 book box set, similar genre to the old Choose Your Own Adventure series (?)
If so, let me know what you think about 'em. They looked interesting..

they work by giving you a situation and if you want to do this thing in the situation, turn to page x, and the outcome could be good or bad, I like the series, it has kept me occupied for quite some time

I love Amish mysteries and romance. I'm reading "Secrets Come Home" by Samantha Price on my kindle now.

I rarely read contemporary political books.. but I saw Pence shilling his new book recently.. and was curious to hear his reflections on his vice presidency. I haven't gotten to that part of his life yet, the first 150 pages have been about his early life, his governorship, etc. Life and political decisions he's proud of, and decisions he regrets. Mostly it's been typical thoughts/feelings of a father and Christian. Not a bad autobiography..

I read several at once, so here goes:

Never Finished - David Goggins
Twilight of the Idols - Nietzsche
Marcus Aurelius - Frank McLynn
Mortis - John French
Nice! I should read that one of these days.

Cool! I’ve heard of Harry Potter but not that particular title. I looked it up and it does seem interesting.
Lord of the Rings is truly epic. I had trouble reading it, but think I was about 12 years old at the time. Have been thinking to re-read for a while.

Harry Potter is worth all the hype in my opinion. Loved the whole series when I was younger.

Sometimes I read multiple books at once too. Good to know about Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter.

When I saw the title, I couldn't resist..
Brief chapters on the various ideologies, hypocricies, and failings of the Biden administration (so far).
Not very in-depth, and if you already love or hate Biden this probably won't alter your opinion on him. But I think it is a good critique of the Biden administration, for neutral observers to consider.
