hi everyone, im new here. a few weeks ago a very weird and creepy feeling came over me, like everything is different somehow and has a weird dark vibe to it..im desperate and scared that it will never go away and that i'll never feel normal or like myself ever again. It started a few weeks ago, out of the blue i got this feeling of intense fear and terror, I felt all my blood going up to my face and I felt like i was going crazy. ever since then everything feels different, creepy and doomy, even my memories, things that used to make me happy or made me feel better suddenly have a weird creepy vibe to it. its like im stuck in some kind of nightmare. also im ruminiscing about life and existence alot which also scares me to death. also, in the first week of this i experienced extreme nausea, gagging, compelete loss of appetite, dry mouth, shaky hands. does this sound familiar? sleeping is also the worst for me, when its time to go to sleep and im in bed the feeling gets even worse. im really scared that i wont go back to normal again, please help me.

Hello @ScaredHSP21 and welcome you our forum.
Have you talked to a doctor about those symptoms?
I think it is quite normal to question ones existence at some point in ones life and also becoming aware of their own mortality.
It might be this realisation that you are experiencing. The realisation that you are moral that you will die, that everyone will die and nothing can change that.
This can be a very scary experience for anyone, it now depends on how you will deal with it and how you will learn to accept the fact of mortality.
Some people tend to become religious some find comfort in the knowledge that the universe is going through a cycle of death and rebirth.

Oh Dear! That doesn't sound too good at all. I'm sorry you are suffering. It sounds like anxiety to me with a bit of PTSD thrown in. Relax and take a deep breath when it happens and make an appointment to see your doctor.

my doctor told me my nervous system probably went in to overdrive because of everything ive been through the last couple months and it needs time to go away. im scared it might be more than that though. he prescribed solian but im not too crazy about going down the road of meds.

I am religious and find comfort in that but its just..i feel like a different person all of a sudden, its like i see everything through dark and creepy glasses. ive been told it could be a form of derealization.

Hey there i just had to respond and tell you i have experienced a similar sensation from what you have described, i have experienced the urge to gag none stop, i was shaking , my sleep was none existant and still can be i, i also slightly different to you experienced severe kidney pain and all of this was my physical response to the depression and anxities that i am currently facing this was discovered after 6 days in hospital with no tests finding a physiological cause to the pains. Is it worth mentioning this sensation to your doctor ? do you have anyways to relax ? x

When you are gagging, or about to or you feel it coming on, have you ever tried to blow into a paper bag? Or breathe in slowly a deep breath?

You should keep trying with your doctor honestly they need to listen to you regardless of what you are suffering with they should listen to you to see if they can support you in a way that is beneficial . Regardless of what they say you are struggling with symptoms and the doctors should be supporting the you to find a way to manage such symptoms.

Bless you, Carol. I honestly don't know what I can suggest for you. All I can do is send you a huge hug and hope it makes you feel a bit better to know that someone the other side of the pond loves you.

I've never had anything shoved up my nostrils or in my mouth :)confused:) not to test for flu anyway!:D I had an operation on the bone in my nose though, and I did have like two tampons shoved in my nostrils to catch the blood after the op. That was awful. It made me sneeze constantly it was the worst operation I've ever had I think.
