Hello,

I was wondering if any of you have ever experienced this symptom I've had for the past three weeks. It's very hard to put into words so bear with me please. I'm not 100% sure it's due to my anxiety, but it feels like it might be. It feels like I have anxiety inside my blood/skin. I haven't been able to sleep for 3 weeks, I have been getting these weird sensations in my upper body and legs that do not let me sleep. It's almost like if I have a messed up nerve somewhere that is making me feel this way. I do not feel pain, it's more of an uncomfortable feeling, almost like it's ticklish but not quite. Running seems to ease the sensations. I do not take any anxiety nor antidepressants. I have xanax that I only use for absolute emergencies. I tried taking one to see if that would ease the sensations but it did not work. Any tips anyone might have??

PS. To add to this, I have been taking vitamin B complex, magnesium, ashwaghanda extract religiously!! They've helped keep my panic attacks under control but are not helping with these sensations

Gabba, do you see a doctor, and if so, have you told him or her that you are having these issues?

Gabba, what you are explaining is very close to what i am dealing with! I know what you mean by not being able to put it into words. My sleep is totally off. I've told the doctor it feels like restless leg syndrome; it typically seems to affect my right lower leg and foot. For the past few days I seem to have that feeling in many places as you describe.

My thought is that we are anxious people to begin with; now, for the past 4-6 weeks our whole reality has changed. Our usual routine is totally different. For me, it means going into the office 2 days a week not 5, and trying to work from home which is tough. it means for me dealing with 3 kids (13, 10 and 8) who have their own issues with this change, and cant seem to appreciate that because we're home doesn't mean we don't have to work.

My doctor says this should ease up once (who knows when) things return to normal. I asked whether he thought Lyrica would be a good idea for me given it's used to help restless leg. He will consider that. Meanwhile yes, that is such an odd feeling that is so hard to put into words, but you did well! Know that you're not alone, and it's even more suggestive to me now that it's anxiety based.

if you do mention it to your doctor, please let me know what he/she thinks.

I have similar issue with my legs as well, especially at night. I don't have that when I go to sleep but right before that. I have urgent needs to move my leg and my feel, the feeling makes me uncomfortable. I think I know what you are referring too.

After coming down off of Klonopin (from 2mg to 1 per day) I jump in my sleep, my legs do strange things sometimes. I don’t recall having it prior though.
Did you look it up? As mentioned above, at least 1 other has experienced it. Anxiety can just have an effect on everything in the body.
