Lately ive been stressed out thinking about getting the covid vaccine. Back in march everyone in my family/household had covid and long story short i never found out for sure if i had covid or not when they did during that time. If so it was mild or i was asymptomatic. My family is choosing to not get vaccinated yet cause of their antibodies but since i don't know for 100% sure if i have antibodies i feel like i should just get the vaccine. I'm tired of worrying about covid yet im also very scared about getting the vaccine. My brain is overthinking so many things. The thing that makes me the most nervous besides the side effects is actually getting the shot. Like the thought of going to the place and sitting in the chair...i know my heart is gonna race and im probably gonna be short of breath because i will be nervous. Im scared about not feeling well while getting the shot

The side effect for the vaccine are rarely significant. The chances of having effects from long term Covid that are determinantal to your health are much worse. However, I understand that this is a secondary issue for you, and that your primary concern is the anxiety produced by the shot itself, which is fair. A lot of people feel nervous in these situations, and the people who will be there as healthcare professionals have seen this many, many times before. Here's a resource that you might find useful:

Also, one thing that I find useful for stressful moments is called box breathing. You inhale for four seconds, hold for four seconds, exhale for four seconds hold for four seconds, the repeat. 4X4X4X4. By focusing on your breath and this cycle, and literally keeping count in your mind, you can distract yourself from anxious and scattered thoughts and calm your body down.

I totally get that - I feel the same way. I want to get it but I'm almost more afraid of sitting in the chair freaking out than real side effects, although once I get it and leave I will worry about side effects too. I just want to get it and get it over with!

That's all very understandable when I got my first dose my heart was racing and so was my mind. I talked to the nurse I said I'm nervous she said the needle is tiny I said I'm not scared of the needle I'm more concerned about the side effects. I asked her if she was nervous when she received her vaccine she told me she was just happy and ready for life to get back to normal. She told me she'd give up a toe if she had to haha I don't think I'd like that to much either :) You will more then likely be nervous and feel your heart racing just know that you aren't going to have a heart attack and that we all feel nervous and scared at some point in our life. You can do this! :nailbiting:

If you are worried about blood clots, Pfizer and Moderna are options where this is not a concern. Whatever you end up getting, feeling pretty sick for a couple days afterward is normal.

I don't know if this helps but I know.more than a dozen people who have had little to no side effects. Mostly just a day of exhaustion and a small fever! And now they are just fine, no complaints! I think it's very natural to be afraid when it comes to something like this and I'm sure whoever is administering the vaccine will be very helpful and reassuring!

Well, for some reason, I got brave this morning and went to the pharmacy and got my vaccine! I'm tired of thinking about it over and over again. Plus I just heard someone I went to high school with recently died of Covid so I just wanted to get it over with. I thought if something bad happens then it does! I'm just so sick of worrying and not being able to make decisions. I had a tiny wave of panic after he injected it, but I just sat there for 20 minutes looking through pictures on my phone and I really did better than I thought I would. One down, one to go. They are actually starting to send people to your home to give the vaccine if you want where I live, which might be less scary than sitting somewhere.

So pleased for you. In my opinion, you did the right thing!

They recommend the vaccine to people even if they have had Covid.
theres literally no point, the vaccine does nothing different than your own immune system has already done... infact contracting the virus is probably safer, even the co-inventor of mRNA vaccines has warned against it.. and thats no lie.. you just need to pay attention to all the details...
I'd advise listening to healthcare professionals instead of this.
like the same ones responsible for nearly 400k malpractice deaths per year.. which is literally a pandemic itself..the same ones that prescribe most of the people on this forum drugs that have people still clinging to this forum for support? i get it that a majority are not informed nor really wish to become informed but i am not one of those people and i will speak on what i know and stay quiet on what i dont.. i've put a lot of my life into understanding how health works and the readily available information that exists that most people dont see because it is not beneficial to certain narratives...

We’ve had this fight on another entry where I think we all concluded to each their own. Let’s not go through this again.

It is what it is - I feel like there are a lot of super paranoid people right now, which, I mean whatever. If you don't want to get it then you certainly don't have to, but I think there are so many websites out there right now that are really way out there and a lot of people completely buy into it. I know for a fact that Covid can be horrible for a lot of people and deadly for some, so I chose to get the vaccine. Most people probably do fine if they get the virus, but it's a personal decision, so yeah to each his own.

Yes I too think that this is not the place to either argue about the 'right' choice or judge other people's decisions because of their genuine concerns about this new technology vaccine. Or vice versa.

I’d like to see a reliable source where the co-inventor of mRNA vaccines speaks out against them.

Yikes i wasnt expecting this thread to blow up. As a few of you have said...lets not debate this on here guys. Its been a tough scary time in the world for everyone especially us folks struggling with anxiety so lets just all support each other. It's everyone's personal decision whether or not to get the vaccine.
