Using self-checkout instead of a cashier

I try to use the self-checkout whenever possible. Where I live, most of the cashiers are really rude and almost see you as beneath them. They never say hello or ask how your day was, just glare at you and ask if it's cash or credit. I'm not opposed to going through a normal line but if I can avoid it, I'll shop at a store with a self-checkout.

Self check-outs are life! You do not have to worry about the staring eyes infront of you and behind you waiting for you to fish out that one stubborn coin from your wallet. I just wish there were self check-outs in clothing shops too. It takes me a long time to decide what I want and what I dont and the cashier makes me feel so uneasy!

Well Self check outs may work for some but personally, I don't like them that much, because it seems like something always goes wrong, and I have to ask for help from a cashier anway. Most of the places I shop don't have self check out, but those that do I am not really crazy about anyway. You feel even more conspicious when you need to ask for special assistance from a cashier. It is just one of the things that happens.
