hey everybody. So last night I had a really rough time with my OCD for the first time in a while. My OCD revolves around germs and my brother had accidentally used my towel after he got out of the shower and this really bothered me because I had to use another towel that I didn’t know was clean or not. Anyway, I was freaking out and kind of grunting really loudly which hurt my throat and when I returned downstairs to relax, I was really stressed but didn’t want to get in trouble for yelling, so I started flicking my wrists and slapping my head really quickly. I noticed I had done this during another similar situation. Does anyone have tips?

Unfortunately, I understand you completely. Mine revolves around germs as well along with many things. There are many Times I get frustrated. when my food is touched or even a couple days ago someone was making me shaved ice and the shaved ice place and I was watching while he was talking to someone while making it and made me think he was spitting on my food so when I got it and I did not eat it. When I wash my hands I do rituals and how many times I should wash them and I know I'm being ridiculous so I try to stop or after I reach the number 20 for example I go to try to dry my hands and then an ocd thought pops in m head and Im almost convinced to washing hands another count of 20 and I get so frustrated and mad. I think clearly its our OCD that needs to be under control. The more we give into it the more power its has over us. Stress does make OCD A LOT worse in my case. I would carry around a squishy stress ball or a fidget spinner any stress RELIEVING / RELEASING TOY.
