For the past 3 months I have had constant 24/7 fasciculations in both calves. They only stop when I stand, walk, or flex the muscles. I have random bodywide fasciculations in archs of both feet, forearms, thighs, hands, lips, eyebrows, tounge etc.. everyday.

I went to a neruo and he has done a bunch of testing and even a emg.
the emg was clean besides showing a few Fasiculations.

i then went back to my neruo a few days ago who i asked him to test me for UMN signs ( Clonus, Hoffsmans, Babinski ) all came back fine. and strength test all came back fine. He has checked my body for atrophy and in his reports have told me he has seen no Atrophy, Hyperflexia, Hypertonia, or brisk reflexes. But he did tell me the neruo that did my emg might have seend a positive sharp wave so they want to do a follow up emg in 4 months to see if there is any "Diesease Progression" if it happens.

I'm a 30yr old male. With 3 sons 12,5, and 1. With a beautiful wife. This fear is debilitating and ripping my family apart. I sit and hold my 1year old crying thinking I won't be here to watch them grow up or even by next christmas. I'm at a loss and need advice. Thank you all for listening to my story.

Hi Twiztid and welcome. Seems like you're going through an awful lot of agony, both physically and mentally. Can you share with us what your life was like before these symptoms started three months ago?

Constant stress and fear over diffrent types of Cancer. I was really over weight and decided to full turn my life around for my kids. So I went on a full 90% green and no red meat diet only drink water. And exercise for 45mins 5 times a week. Did this for 4 months and lost 100lbs. Then one day sat down on the couch after a workout and my calves were twitching and haven't stopped since.

Congrats on your weight loss. That's one heck of an accomplishment. So did all of your prior cancer fears turn out to be just fears? Maybe you can use that experience to help you look at your current symptoms as having a good chance of being health anxiety related. I know it doesn't feel that way, just as your previous cancer scares felt absolutely real at the time. Are you on any medication for your health anxiety? Again, sincere congrats on the weight loss. I watch my wife struggle with her weight so I've got a clue as to what a huge success you've had with it.

Have you discussed with your doctor any medications to help temper the anxiety, stress and fears?

Yeah they dont seem to say anything about my anxiety at all. All my drs know I'm a hypochondriac and have intense stress and anxiety I never lie to my drs. That's why I'm here on this forum to pretty much ask can this be anxiety and stress? Does this sound like anxiety? Or is it a slow progression of a terminal illness. I know no one is a dr but opinions of people with anxiety and stress might have a similar story. Or might have a way for me to get rid of all this. I'm just trying to find solace and some sort of hope.

None of those tests are fun. I wish you only the best in trying to settle those symptoms down and not be so freaked out by them. I sure have seem stranger symptoms turn out to be from anxiety. I was unable to walk one time and it turned out to be anxiety. Just my opinion, but I believe if the doctors would give you something for the anxiety and stress you'd see those symptoms eventually subside.

Hello Twiztid Tragedy. My tongue twitches all the time as well. It's just anxiety...trust me! Try to calming yourself down some. It was subside or go away completely once you've done so. Wishing you the best.

Hello TwiztidTragedy. I only read half of what you wrote and missed the part about the calf twitching. I suffer from health anxiety as well and the predominate symptom I have is muscle twitching. My calves twich all the time as well. I notice when my anxiety is really elevated the twitching gets really bad. ALS is one of those neuromuscular diseases that is progressive and you would not only have muscle twitching but you would have weakness to a point where you can't really move. A neurologist said that with ALS you typically will have muscle weakness 1st before any muscle twitching. It is a fact that high anxiety will cause muscle twitching in some people...you and I being one of them. I have been twitching for years now. Relax and enjoy your beautiful kids.

So. I woke up with my tounge twitching, upper thigh by my knee twitching, and still both calves. How can I be so stressed if I'm asleep.... Can anxiety still be high even during sleep? I'm scared and having trouble :/

Hi Twix,
I have upper thigh twitching a lot! And mostly when I’m in one of my panic modes. My eyeball and also my upper tricep goes haywire. The more I focus and think about it, the more it seems to do that. But I know how you feel. Ageless is right, you would definitely have very noticeable weakness awhile before the twitching would happen. I know it’s easy for us/me to say this, but our biggest health fear is probably never going to happen to us, I mean- what are the chances? I should take my own advice ( I’m smack dab in the middle of thinking I have all these different cancers). I know we can’t help how we feel, and how real this feels. It feels so lonely. And also, I’ve held my kids too and cried thinking I’ll never see them grow up. But you know what....we will.

Yeah I'm trying to ignore things and just calm down. But when my tounge buzzes and then twitches it is one of those things I cant just ignore and then I go into panic.. I thank you all for talking to me. I hope we all get some sort of hope and solace. Atm I'm so physically, emotionally, and spiritually exhausted. I feel alone and like no one understands until I read one of y'alls replys so I truly appreciate you all taking time out of your own fears and day to say something to me. Thank you. I am greatful
