Has anyone ever had a twitch in their body that they can’t quite tell exactly where it’s coming from? Yesterday I started to get this weird sensation in my upper left leg, sort of near my upper inner thigh. It’s like a twitch but almost feels like fluids moving or something. It’s so bizarre, only on that one side, and I can’t quite tell where it’s coming from. The first time I noticed it I didn’t think much of it but it’s been coming and going all day now. I do occasionally get random twitches, I think from stress. I’ve hasd twitches in my eye, leg, all over the place. They typically last a few days. But usually they’re pretty obvious when they’re happening and I can tell exactly where it’s at. This one is just really subtle and strange.

Oh, yes, definitely. The more you think about it, the more twitches you get, or the more frequent they get. It can get pretty annoying since it would always be on your mind which is a positive feedback, since your body would just produce more twitches. The random twitches are normal, they just happen.

Yes, I get twitches too. Especially in my eyes. It's the anxiety and nothing to worry about.

If we think about it. Twitching is a nervous thing. So is anxiety a nervous thing. So really the two go hand in hand.

I am currently experiencing twitching thousands of times a day and I was convinced it was ALS. Nothing stopped me thinking otherwise and it has overtaken my life. I recently saw TWO neurologists that say they do not suspect it in any way whatsoever. They told me the main causes of benign fasciculations are STRESS/ANXIETY, caffeine or medication. It's a VERY normal thing to experience so do not worry!

Twitching isn't really a sign of MS... maybe in the latter stages of MS you may experience twitching due to muscle exertion.

Anyone ever get temporary twitches caused by alcohol consumption (?)
I used to ocassionally get a twitchy eyelid the morning after drinking (it would last all day)..
I rarely drink now, so never get it anymore. In retrospect, I'm thinking the alcohol was causing a mild, anxious twitch as it lingered in my system. At the time I was ignorant about how alcohol increases anxiety..

alcohol dehydrates you.. dehydration causes twitching.. so it's very possible that alcohol was the cause for you.

Do you get the twitching in your hands and fingers too?
Those are the ones that scare the sh*t out of me into thinking I have a horrible disease.
They seem to be getting worse but by anxiety is worse too.

It cracks me up that this message strand is still getting replies lol. I was just reading these and never really thought about the point that “He Man” made about alcohol consumption and twitches. Now that I read that I think back to the last time I had a twitchy eye and I actually do think it started the day after being out drinking. I bet there is a connection!
