I don't know how?
Everyone in my household we're vaccinated and sick and positive test came back.
So much for the vaccine and effectiveness.
Breakthrough cases have to be in the millions for a family of 4.

Breakthrough cases have become much more common with the Omicron variant, I believe is what I've been seeing / hearing. It still reduces the overall severity of the illness, apparently. My fiancee's mom is fully vaccinated (not sure if just two or also a booster). But she just felt really run down for several days. Imagine if she had not been vaccinated at all, how severe it could've been.

The Omicron variant is running wild. I think they know they can't stop people catching it. Our government are even thinking about lifting restrictions. The health experts actually agree with them. This when we have thousands upon thousands of cases a day. They had us in lockdown with other variants for only 5,000 cases a day. ( Small population here in Ireland ) Now with 27,000 cases a day they want to lift restrictions. I think that is them accepting there is nothing they can do to stop it.

This thing is not fun.
Chills, hot to freezing , ringing in one ear
Body aches in my muscles were the first give away I was under the weather all my muscles hurt.

You're right they can't stop it.
The sooner we all get it and get better we can build immunity.
It just hit so fast the speed of onset reminded me of having food poisoning as it was fast.
My wife told me her son is positive and was over a week ago then complained before leaving his throat was bothering him, man was I pissed off when I heard that.

Wow! My son came to visit for the holidays and came covid positive. I had him take a test on his way to my house from the airport. I couldn't believe he was positive. I was beyond mad. I had him spend 3 days in a hotel instead of taking him to my house. I couldn't believe that we didn't catch it. He was fully vaxed and had covid this last summer too.

Although the mainstream media is not reporting on it, more people who are vaxxed are testing positive for Covid and are the majority of hospitalized people. This is from reports across many countries.

I’ve certainly heard that on the news that I watch.

I hear you. Honestly I don't know who/what to believe. A friend's whole family got covid. 4 out of 5 weren't vaxed. The one who was vaxed got it the worst by far. All are fine now.

Someone asked me the other day how come there were more covid deaths in the US in 2021 than in 2020 when we didn't have a vaccine. I don't know I said.

It's all over the place.

Vaccines do not prevent all infections. Just the severity. The CDC continues to say this. If you aren’t hearing it, then you aren’t listening to legitmtimstr news sources.

Omicron is highly contagious so many more people (vaxxed and unvaxxed) are becoming infected than with Delta. So although omicron is less lethal on average, because more people are infected, the death rate is similar to last year.

simple statistics.

I’m very grateful for the vaccine. The same vaccine Trump Admin touted and that Trump himself took and was boosted with. Politicians and news pundits might be telling people not to take vaccines but for the most part, they have taken the vaccine.

Actually the CDC changed the previous definition of what a vaccine is. Prior to 2015 a vaccine PREVENTED a disease. 2015-2021 to PRODUCE IMMUNITY. 2021 PROVIDE PROTECTION. As with any vaccine, there are always going to be instances where the vaccine didn’t do it’s job. Small pox vaccine prevented, polio vaccine prevented, other vaccines also prevented. The Covid vax protects, it does not prevent. Big difference. Ask yourself why. Why wasn’t the vax touted as being a preventative when it first came out? It was supposed to Prevent Covid. It became obvious it wasn’t preventing. CDC was forced to change the definition because it wasn’t working to stop the virus. How does anyone know if the vax made the virus milder in symptoms if you got it. From what I have read, symptoms vary from person to person in severity regardless of being vaxxed or not. Has the CDC given peer reviewed documentation from studies attesting to this statement? No. Not trying to argue, just asking reasonable questions, especially given this vax is an experimental, emergency authorized use only, unproven technology never studied extensively in humans.

The CDC Clarified and now that’s an issue? Come on. Taking the vaccine adds protection from the Covid virus.

They changed their definition on their site because the original text was potentially misleading. The definition of "vaccine" is unchanged everywhere else. Also, the flu vaccine is another example of a vaccine that doesn't "prevent" an illness, but makes it less likely to get the flu as well as reduces severity if you do still get it...

Show peer reviewed studies that prove it and then I’ll believe it.

So after three quarters of a century of vaccines, they just now revise their definition? Doesn’t it make you wonder. Especially since the vax is now being proven in studies with peer review to not be working. Plus the need for two jabs and boosters? Israel is on their fourth booster now. But yeah, it works. The CDC never posts peer reviewed studies to back up anything they say. When the vaccine came out , they said it was safe and effective against Covid. Then they said two doses. Then boosters. Then they changed the definition, and are admitting the vax is not effective in preventing Covid but keep on getting them boosters. When is it going to be enough? Israel is on their fourth booster, besides the first two! which by the way, is for emergency authorized use in the immuno compromised. The FDA approved vaccine, has never been used or released, at least not in the US.

I am vaccinated and I already got Covid twice in three months. My symptoms were mellow, but even with the vaccine, I was able to get it twice. And to add on this, I don;t go out at all, I don't party, rarelly go to eat out, and I wear my mask everywhere... And I still got it.

Last week a former NY Times reporter Alex Berenson wrote a very controversial piece calling for an immediate end to mRNA vaccines because they don't work and are not completely safe. Fauci disagrees.

The CDC did not clarify. They changed the definition of the word vaccine. That is not a clarification. A clarification would have been to stop calling the covid shot a vaccine because it wasn't preventing anyone from getting the virus.
