Too afraid to see doctor

At the beginning of covid when my state was having a crisis, my doctor acted like I was nuts for wanting to be treated remotely.
I'm way overdue for bloodwork to check vitamin levels he had me supplementing to correct. I stopped taking one supplement months ago and continued my high dose of the other.
I'm too embarrassed to call his office again to ask if he is doing remote visits yet because he made me feel so dumb last time. He doesn't do the bloodwork himself, but makes people come in for a visit when they get bloodwork.
Every other doctor I've heard of or dealt with does remote or phone visits.
I haven't been inside of any building but where I live since February. I am as strictly quarantining as I did in March. I know most people aren't, but I will not consider stopping until it's safe again.
I sometimes have very bad anxiety because I can't get basic healthcare though. I am so worried about dying of something else before this pandemic is over.

If it's not urgent (e.g. a potentially harmful deficiency), please try to remain calm. In the meantime, is there a local urgent care that offers telehealth visits? My regular doc office also tends to not do telehealth, but a local urgent care does so that's who I've used when needed.

I don't understand the lack of telehealth, because I think it's going to be *huge* going forward. For lots of reasons, pandemic or not. I understand the need to physically examine a patient for, say, blood pressure management, but just to get labs done? Why not do a telehealth visit? I don't know their reasoning for that.

I also hate seeing the doctor. I don’t want to hear the bad news. I know some HA sufferers go to the doctor a lot; i’m the opposite.

I used to feel the same way, never going to the doctor out of fear for bad news. Then I started going annually, and it wasn't so bad after all. I actually feel much better knowing I go at least once a year for a physical.

I literally say the same exact thing..and have posted those exact words. Besides a serious weight lifting accident in 07 that landed me in a big time hospital, and going to get back on ssri at my local doc...i have not had a physical in around 25 years.

Sigh. I hate the doctors. Have you had any HA scares where you just avoid the doc but know maybe you should go

I too have resisted going to the doctor(s) because of my raging HA. I see my GP four times a year for a check-up and my urologist once a year. As appointment days approach, my BP goes through the roof and my anxiety boils over. But then I try to tell myself whether I go to the doc or not changes nothing. If I am well, I am well. If something is wrong, it's still wrong. Whether I know it or not. The difference is that I am working myself into a frenzy either for nothing or for fearing a million "possibilities," most of which are unlikely. Going to the doc is the only way to know the state of my health for sure, to know the actual thing I should be concerned about, if any, and to get treatment if needed. This train of thought may sound fatalistic to some, but I prefer to think of it as realistic.

I don't necessarily think so , I have been dealing with all of a sudden crippling pain in feet and knees for 10 + years that I have come to terms with being gout. About 3 years ago im pretty sure I had pneumonia...ive been blessed so far with having limited emergencies.

I’m back to googling stuff again, *sigh*. I am ok for periods of time then some random pain or twitch will come along and *bam* back to hypochondria mode. My latest issue is TMI to share but lets just say I need to see a different type of doctor other than my primary care physician and the mere thought of that brings more anxiety than the actual issue I’m having. Also, a lot of my health anxiety stems from google results almost always, no matter how tiny the problem is, including the “c” word as a possible dx.

Oh wow, it’s like I wrote this myself.
What’s going on?

I would need to see an OB/GYN for my concerns. I have never been to one...I’m way past the age they recommend you start seeing one plus I’m quite the oddball. It would be an uncomfortable experience for me and likely cause great anxiety. I don’t have constant symptoms nor the one that seems to be most common with cancer so I am trying drug store remedies to help.

What’s going on though? Silly because I’m actually going through a scare like that as well. Reference my latest post. I need to see a OBGYN as well.

Mostly just itching...and minor twinges of pain. Itching itself is not necessarily a cancer symptom but it can be.
and as I said, I am in no condition to see an OB/GYN. I’m in a bad stretch right now and my anxiety is rising and in the past has caused me weird symptoms. Also, PMS and in between period symptoms have become more numerous as I grow older. Kind of in a holding pattern right now but I’d attempt contacting my primary doctor first before anything...they are good about handling things via phone.

You wont die before this pandemic is over, i cannot say and after because everyone will die at some point someday. You can delay death by staying safe and following governments guidelines. Wear a face mask, stay 2 metres apart, try to do everything electronically, etc.
