Hello all, Iv'e been on Zoloft for 2 months now, most days I feel tired and unmotivated, and I feel like my life doesn't have a point to it. it hasn't really improved my anxiety either. So I'm looking to change meds, has anybody else felt like this on Zoloft? If so did you eventually find a med which worked for you? Thanks!

Hey there. I’ve been on and off Zoloft since a pretty young age and I can say that it definitely won’t solve these problems you are describing on its own, even at a pretty high dose. In essence all it really does is make it “easier” to handle these types of symptoms. You definitely have to sort of meet Zoloft half way as it won’t solve any issues on its own. That’s my experience anyway from years of taking it. I will also warn you if you do come off of it, talk to your doc about it and make sure you wean off it slowly. Last time I came off it I had some pretty bad withdrawal symptoms and that was even after weaning.

Quit zoloft cold turkey 2 days ago already feeling better. I absolutely hate feeling tired all day. Makes me depressed! Anyone have experience with beta blockers? Don't they block the physical symptoms of anxiety? I'm thinking about asking my doctor for some.

Thank you for the advice Steven, I thought I would take a gamble and quit cold turkey since I was only taking them for 2 months. I haven’t noticed anything negative yet, I will see how it goes.

Thanks :)
I also had rapid breathing on zoloft which was scary. Another reason I decided to quit.

How’s it been going quitting cold turkey?
Hi Stonecakes, I feel fine now, I had symptoms in the beginning like loss of coordination/balance and also mood swings, but they were quite subtle. But I was only taking it for 2 months..

Are you trying to quit zoloft or another ssri?

I’m thinking about it. I have been on very low dose Zoloft for about 8 months. Only went to 25mg. Every time I try to go higher than that I feel awful. And I don’t see any benefit in the 25mg. At the beginning I did see benefit. Since I’m on such a low dose I can taper but I wondered about just stopping so seeing your experience.

Yeah I get you I felt the same. :/

However how long did you try a higher dose? It might take time to adjust to your system.

I have been on Zoloft since July.. I am at 100 mg and it has helped me so much... I did feel really crappy and tired and sick for about the first 3 months but one day I just woke up and felt fine.. It's great that you are feeling ok without taking anything. I wish I could do that lol

You echo my thoughts on meds. Iv'e never had any success with them. I really want them to work for me but they just make me feel tired and give me weird side effects... Like being unable to pee, and increased heart rate. They don't even reduce my anxiety lol.

I'm going to look into natural remedies. Anyone tried St Johns Wort, Kava?

i hope those work for you. i tried natural too but i kinda think if you have it in your mind that they will work, they will. our minds are so sensitive and powerful. its just like we work ourselves into an anxiety or panic attack...its our minds that control everything. my blood pressure has been up high and down very low, ive been checked out by the cardiologist and everything is fine. they said its from my anxiety. im beginining to think im like jesus and can walk on water becuz my "mind" will let me do it :( #crazy!

Indeed placebo effect is a powerful drug in itself!
