I've had anxiety since I was a child, and within the past few years was diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder and panic disorder. I'm on daily Lexapro and have .5mg Xanax for breakthrough anxiety or panic attacks. I've recently been convinced to try small doses of THC in gummy form. I take a 5mg or 10mg in the evening when I know I don't have to go anywhere or do anything important. Most of the time this does help, but occasionally it will make me edgy and paranoid. It's not often, but it is bothersome. Has anyone else experienced this? I tried when I was much younger smoking THC, but that was a terrible reaction and the only couple of times I tried it, it made me extremely paranoid and induced a panic attacks. It's been 20 years since then, and I'm very hopeful this will help even if my psychiatrist isn't super supportive of it.

THC makes me extremely anxious and paranoid. I can only use it when I am feeling very healthy mentally. Otherwise, it can be a disaster. It is very bad for my health anxiety. Different people have different responses to it though.

I had to quit after quite a few years of using it because of how bad my anxiety would get after using it and that's with both smoking it and edibles.

Did edibles affect you the same way smoking did, or was it different? I used to smoke it no problem, and suddenly one day it caused massive panic. It happened when I tried again several years later, so I had to stop altogether. I've considered trying edibles, but been afraid to because of that experience with smoking.

As long as I have only partaken in a nibble here and there, it doesn't seem to become overwhelming. If I do it every once in a while in small increments I seem to be ok. From my experience, the worst part about edibles is the effects don't come on slowly as with smoking it. They come on all at once and too much can throw my anxiety into overdrive!
