I am sure a lot of people here probably wonder whether they have an actual anxiety disorder, or if they are just generally prone to finding it difficult to cope with potentially stressful situations. While I certainly wouldn't advise it above seeking the advice of a medical professional, I came across this online test which might point you in the right direction to getting help if you really need it. Again, no online resource should be taken as medical advice, but if you are on the fence about seeking treatment or not this might help you. I hope you find it useful!

Wow, I have never thought to take quizzes online to see if you may potentially be suffering with anxiety. I see tons of these things though, but never for anxiety/depression. I may just have to take the quiz and see what it says, though, either way, I wont go to the doctor for it. I have learned to cope.

The test actually have a lot of things in common with the anxiety scales tests that I have seen on school, so it's great that there are actually good information sources out there. It can be a good way to determine if a person needs to seek for professional help or not, it's a good step to take, I guess.

I just took this test for fun and I am most definitely still suffering an anxiety disorder. I think tests like this are good windows or doors towards taking the right steps for getting help. As was stated though, it's no replacement for real medical advice. Although I'm not sure I'd print this out and bring it to m doctor. These seem like questions that are usually already asked anyway during my trips. Is it different for other people? Still, I think a practicing doctor would look at someone like they were crazy if they brought in a printed online test.

I already know that I suffer from anxiety so I don't need to do a test at this point. I think it is a great idea though for people who are unsure and don't want to go to their doctor or talk to anyone about it. If someone felt that way and done the test it might just encourage them to go and get professional help.

Sure, no online resource should be taken as medical advice, an actual physician is more capable to better understand your condition, and notices far more symptoms than you do. But It may help to arouse your suspictions, and you can always bring the questions with you when you're being examined by a doctor in order to put it under question. Go ahead and take the test people, if you're the kind of self diagnosed folk.

Yeah, I agree here. I would never say rely on them, but how can you not just be curious about yourself and want to find out yourself what is going on. I would be surprised to hear of people who do not do this, because the data and research is out there, you just have to go find it and come to your own conclusions. That said, of course you can only go so far with symptoms and you need actual real tests and things like that, so go see the doc.

My mom always told me not to trust the internet too much when it comes to my physical or mental health. She always used to joke that if you always google your symptoms you might die of a misprint! I've always trusted her advice and I wouldn't take a quiz to find out if I have Anxiety disorder. I would feel much safer going to a trusted medical professional.

While I don't think that there's anything wrong with taking these types of online tests, I think that if you are looking at taking them in the first place then you yourself must already feel like you are suffering with some sort of issue. As the OP says, these online tests shouldn't be used instead of medical advice, but just as a way to see if you need to get that medical advice in the future or not to start off with.

I think that we all know ourselves better than anybody else does though, and while these tests can be helpful to try and maybe diagnose what is wrong with us, like I said, if we are taking these tests anyway then e are already more or less convinced anyway that something in our life isn't right.
