Does anyone else here obsessively feel their neck glands, and compare them on either side? I woke up this morning and just happened to feel my left neck gland, and now I've convinced myself it's swollen. It's not bulging or hard, but in my mind it's swollen and I'm so terrified I've cried several times today out of sheer terror of lymphoma, or brain cancer, or some other cancer. Does anyone else do this, and have you found a way to relieve the worry without constantly spending money on docotor's appointments?

You very said it yourself .. it's not hard or bulging. Chances are... you have cprobably caught a cold and your body i's attempting to fight it off. Your good. I wouldn't worry too much about it. You'll probably start having a runny nose in about 48 hours or so and then you will be sure. You think the gland thing is weird... I used to check my wrist to see if I had internal bleeding. I feel your pain.

If ever you are unsure to make a visit to the doctor, you can always call them. You will be speaking to the receptionist but tell them your symptoms. If they don't know the answer they will tell you to hold on while they go and speak with a doctor. If the doctor thinks that it sounds serious then the answer will be that you need to go in. Or they may say that it is best to check it out. Another way to prevent having to go to the doctor every time is to ask your local pharmacist. Ask two or three of them what they think it is and if you should go to the doctor. They have a very good idea of medical ailments. They may even suggest a harmless cream for it.

I've had swollen "lymph nodes" for months. I Was positive it was Lymphoma. In your case, if your sick it's normal and can take 2-3 weeks for glands and lymphnodes to come down, but when they don't they deserve a doctor visit for sure. I had 2 biopsys over 1 1/2 years and as the procedure sucked I needed peace of mind. Let's all be honest, if were on this chain, were all a lil bit of hypo's but don't listen to anyone on here and get your own piece of mind by seeing a REPUTABLE doctor. Even if it was worst case scenario........lymphoma isn't necessarily a death sentence, early detection is key, but odds are against you for that. Good luck
