Recently, I got over my constipation and sleeplessness..i gained my appetite back too. It's also been a month I am able to work normally also. but now there's unbelievable swelling in my feet near my ankles. I am a very active person I use to lift weight and treadmill and walk longer hours before two months I fell sick and anxiety struck. I went to the doctor and he checked my BP because acc to him it can be due to salt retention.

But I have low BP I am suppose to eat more salt. Idk what is causing it. But it's extremely hot here and my feet and ankle hurt and burn all the time. Could heat temperature be causing it? Or more serious underlying issue. I have never had my feet swelling so much before with just a normal 10min walk or just walking around the house.

I don't think anxiety is causing it either because there are times I am not even anxious . Sometimes I am in a very good mood and my feet are still swollen. I am too afraid to google ..the doctor doesn't seem too worried about it though. He says it's my vitamin d3 deficiency. But I didn't have this before.

Any idea what could be causing this.? I feel the doomed to be honest. Like the universe is against me. I feel I am going to die soon with some undiagnosed disease.

Just wanted to clear this up first. Anxiety is not an instant in time, but rather a state of mind. Whether or not you feel anxious does not indicate on its own whether or not you're in a state of heightened anxiety.

the doctor doesn't seem too worried about it though. He says it's my vitamin d3 deficiency. But I didn't have this before.
Why do you think you have a difficult time trusting your doctor's professional opinion? IMO you should work on trusting them, I seriously doubt they would intentionally steer you wrong. Just because you've not had it previously with a vitamin deficiency does not mean that it can never happen.

Also, I agree that anxiety is likely not the cause. However, I do strongly believe that anxiety is causing you to see it as something much different than it actually is. Meaning I think it's normal or otherwise harmless (agreeing with your doc, basically), but because you have anxious thought patterns, you're seeing it as something worse when there is no logical reason to.

It could be from any meds you take or perhaps a new med. Anti d’s are known to cause this swelling. Or, if you have increased your salt intake because of low b/p, it could very well be from that. There is nothing wrong with trying to find the cause, but when we are in an anxiety state we tend to see things as being much worse than they actually are. Agree with bin_tenn, listen to the doc.

Low blood pressure is good and don't eat more salt. I would give it some time and see if things improve.

If you need to regain electrolytes and make sure you have enough sodium in your body while doing so, I recommend checking in with your local pharmacy and asking them for an electrolyte packets you can add to water. I drink them all the time when exercising.

If your doctor doesn't seem too worried about it then you should probably not be worried about it either. I'm sure your doctor wouldn't want to have bad rep so you can trust your doctor.

It's more like my nerves in my calfs and ankles and bottom of my feet are inflamed. When I stand and put pressure on my feet it aches badly. Initially I use to do so much of walking now i can't do a 10min walk without my entire feet swelling and aching. Like my heels don't support my weight anymore. There's constant pain and inflammation.
It pains badly. I didn't have it before and I know anxiety is definitely not causing this.

Similarly, I can feel the tension at the back of my head just where my neck starts. Like a tension headache. I can feel the nerves pulling and it creates a pressure when I rest my head. I don't feel it when i m doinh something because I am distracted enough.

I am not sure if any of this is a neurological condition...I m so afraid and so tired. I had a vitamin b12 and d3 deficiency doc gave me supplements for it but it caused so much constipation that i use ti struggle daily and cry so I stopped them immediately and since then my bowels have been regular. Idk if not taking the supplements is causing this. I try to intake as much vitamin b12 and d3 from food as much possible. But if i hadn't done the tests for vitamin deficiencies three weeks ago I wouldn't even know which means I was deficient since God knows how long but never had any physical symptom of it.

Could be that it's because you stopped taking the vitamins that you probably should take as your doc told you to. Maybe go ask your doctor what to do if you have this problem and need to take the vitamins. It sounds related. I was recently constipated and the only thing that helped me was an enema and a lot of veggies in my diet.

I have had swollen ankles and feet for absolute years. Even when I was out of work and not on my feet as much I had swollen ankles. My doctor said it’s probably just due to my weight. I am slightly overweight. He also said that anxiety does crazy things to our bodies. We are always in a state of constant panic which means we are tense. Our muscles and joints are always tense. Hence pain. The neck pain you describe is in my experience definitely tension. I have the exact pain and sometimes it’s unbearable. I try to massage mine out or use a hot water bottle. It might hurt at first but it will relax eventually.

Lately the tension in my neck have seem to reduce a little bit. I am able to manage most of my anxiety now and also changed my pillow for better support for my neck...I absolutely agree anxiety does crazy unexplainable things to our bodies.. I wish anxiety never existed...n so many people would live a happy carefree life
