Okay, so lately I've been having pain in the back if my left thigh, just underneath my buttock. The pain itself is somewhat of a throbbing kind and has been happening for the last week or so. My anxiety is making me think blood clot, but I had a negative D Dimer test over the weekend. I'm just freaked out. Any ideas?

Screenshot_2017-07-25-18-22-21-1.png Sciatica. There is a nerve in the back of your upper leg called a sciatic nerve. When you pull it a certain way or sleep on it wrong or you can do just about anything to disturb it in anyway... you can start to develop a throbbing or a pain or an electric type shock feeling or just a mild pain (it depends on how you injurerd yourself). Let me ask you something... do any pain relievers help? Let me know. Then I can tell you for sure what it is if it doesn't help.

I've not taken anything for pain, but I have tried icing the spot and that seems to help temporarily.
I also want to add to this that my calves tend to hurt every now and again when I get up in the morning. Usually goes away after moving early d for about a half hour.
Thanks.

Who have you been seeing to diagnose your possible blood clot? The pain in your calves concerns me. And the fact that you get relief from exercise tells me that maybe there's a circulation problem. Or maybe it could be as simple as the way your sleeping sometimes.

I had a negative D Dimer over the weekend at the hospital. My doctor had previously ordered an ultrasound for my left leg and it was clear. But that was about a month or so ago.

What kind of blood work have they done? Have they done a a wbc test ? That test is done to determine your white blood cell count and your matabolism.. etc. And also ask for a cortisol test . A cortisol test is used to determine if you a an autoimmune disorder called " Addison's disease ". It can cause weird pains anywhere on the body and the body to be intolerant of the cold . And various other symptoms. Look that up on the Internet and see if that's a possibility.

Sorry for the late response. I'll definitely check into those things! I appreciate your help.
