Hi everyone -
I'm new here. I've posted this on other sites to try and get answers, so now I'm trying others to see if I can find anyone else who can identify.
I am a 38/m, 5'11, 155 lbs, Caucasian, non-smoker (use an e-cig), no alcohol or drugs. This has been happening for about two months now. I'm currently on wellbutrin 450mg, topamax 100mg (2x daily), remeron 22.5mg and medical marijuana, All for mood and anxiety. I'll start by saying I suffer from severe depression and anxiety, and my anxiety has been extremely high as of lately, so I have been attributing this to that, but it's been scaring me. I don't have any other major medical issues other than I had a PE and DVT this past October and was on Eliquis which I'm no longer on, although I do take daily aspirin. I am active, run 3-4 times a week and eat a plant based diet.
Anyway, a couple of months ago my psych put me on Abilify 10mg, which may or may not have had anything to do with this. About a week into taking that, I started getting these strange headaches that only last a couple seconds. I can't really describe them so it's been hard to tell doctors. I'm going to try my best. They come out of nowhere, but I can feel it coming like a shiver up my spine or neck, and then it's almost like a blackout feeling and I feel it like pressure all around my head. It's kind of feels like my brain is being shocked. Then it's like I'm out of it for a second, confused. Sometimes I feel it in my stomach, like I've just missed a stair. That drop out feeling. It only lasts maybe 1-2 seconds and then I am kind of stunned for a minute after, trying to recover from the fear it just put into me. I've had CT scans done and they've found nothing. I've had blood work done and also the same. I'm currently seeing a cardiologist for issues regarding PVCs that may or may not be anxiety related. From what every doctor I've seen can tell me, physically, I'm fine. I've stopped taking the Abilify since then per order of my psych.
This seems to happen mostly while I'm at work but it has happened while not working, too. I work in front of as computer, 12 hours a day, 3-4 days a week, under bright fluorescent lights. I very much hate what I do, but really like where I work.
Now, I know most people will want to say I'm just high because of the medical marijuana, but I promise you that's not it. I've been smoking pot for 20 years and this has never happened.
Anyway, thanks for reading.
