Could be. Ive see my anxiety play tricks on me before. I have been struggling with this for probably over 5/6 months now. ENTs never told me it could be anxiety. I assume that isnt their field of expertise. All they say is your throat looks clean. Nothing there and believe me they took their time check. Advil helps when it bothers me. Its not really painful, it's just there. Any i feel like i shifts to two or three spots. Depending on day or time. Also every time I sneeze it feel like a strain on that spot in my thoat. Like I pulled a muscle there. The only explanation i can come out with is Glossopharyngeal Neuralgia but im not a doctor so just i wouldnt be surprised if it wasnt. When it come courage it is something you have to logicly think about. Im scared going to the doctor or taking tests like everybody alse but i like to have a choices. I dont want to just wait and die (if there is something going on) nor i want to suffer mental tortures thinking that i have something. I rather just pull the bandaid fast and get it done. When im going to the doctor my mind is in acceptance mode. We all have to go one day but we dont know that day and living in fear isnt really living, it's suffering. Please feel free to write back as much as you need. Makes me feel good too talking to others with similar issues and I hope im heloing others too to some extent.

Sorry to hear that you're having bad day today. Ive been dealing with this on day by day basis, moving forward with my head down. I hate this feeling and it consumes me. I cant enjoy simple things that made me happy before. But i have to keep pushing and hoping for better tomorrow. Even though lately seems like i get bad days more often than good ones. I still search around trying to find what could be causing my symptoms. I dont believe it is anxiety in my case. If it was it would be more of constant discomfort based on day/episode not on how i position my head. Slight change/tilt and discomfort is gone. Second leter another position and it's back (I only feel that discomfort when swallowing and sneezing hard). So strange Im still waiting for my bloodwork i did last week. My previous one was in Feb/Mar and was fine. Going back to you I wish I could help you becouse I know it's tough to live like that. You have to help yourself and break the chains of fear and get that checked out. I dont know you age but even if there is something going on with thoat it's in most cases HPV based and as bad as it sounds it's unusual the most treatable one. I am confident you have nothing to worry about based on what you described. Especially the part that it is moving around which again bad things dont do - they stay and get worse. Free yourself and make that first step, you have nothing to lose only to gain. I wish you well and looking forward to hear from you.

What’s HPV?

Human Papilloma Virus, same virus that causes warts and certain types of cancer.

By same, I mean there are hundreds of strains of HPV, most are harmless and don't cause cancer. But a lot of throat cancers are HPV related. Luckily, they actually respond better to treatment than non-HPV throat cancers.

Despite HPV the most common STD on the planet, the amount of throat cancers is relatively small. Most cases there are other factors at play, such as smoking, drinking, HIV, etc.

It has been concluded many times that even the bad strains of HPV, get cleared from your body within a year or two and you will never know you had it.

Marie what Flipper is trying to say even it is something bad it's treatable. You cant just focus on bad. I had many anxieties in the past from colon caner to MS. You name it I had it. After brain MRI, colonoscpy, endoscopy etc. Thank god i got none. I always start from worst case scenario and extensive research (im a engineer so im used to that hehe). I already know treatments and trials. All my time and effort I put into an idea which by blessing never came into reality is basically waisted. I do that all the time and makes no sense to me why but, i do. When I go to the doctor that doesnt know me they always ask if im in medical field. From all these years of research i know what i have said before (and doctor will tell you the same things) bad things dont go away and magically appear in other spot for a moment. If you have something sinister in your throat it will be in that one spot for some time, then you will get other symptoms with that. Again from what you described it honestly seems like a anxiety to me but you definitely should get that checked out just so you can put this fear away and move on. We have to learn to heal our minds so we can heal our bodies. Stay stong and try to relax a little with something you like. Sending healing and positive vibes to you.

I am sorry Marie, but you asked what HPV was and I know if you were going to google it and you would go down a rabbit hole without any framing to start from.

Just wanted to give you some good news with the other at the same time without you reading too much into it.

I apologize if I came up like this, definitely didnt mean to say anything that would upset you nor get your anxiety to higher levels. It's hard to say something in text with feelings involved. Try to keep yourself busy so you dont focus on your specific discomfort. You will see that when you occupied you dont even know you have that issue.
