So last night I tried some positive affirmations guided sleep meditation tracks and some interesting things happened. For one thing, I had a nightmare oddly enough. I dreamt I was a doctor and a xenomorph type creature was hunting me and my patients down one by one and believe it or not this is the second time that creature has shown up in a dream of mine. So I don’t know what that’s all about. But when I woke up I checked my phone and I felt really confident and happy. I checked my phone and saw my tinder match had messaged me back and I carried on a conversation with her without getting nervous and saying something weird.
Normally I’d say it was a placebo effect, but I had pretty much forgotten I had even done it till later in the morning and I haven’t given much thought to it till now. So yeah I think that particular type of sleep meditation works for me. I went to bed last night in tears from thinking about my ex (I was resetting my tinder and hand to scroll by old pictures of us together to find profile pictures), but this morning I woke up feeling immediately positive and ready to take the day on. I even played a video game for the first time in weeks and had to stop myself from playing as apposed to getting bored and depressed and moving on to something else.
Even now getting ready for bed I’ve never felt more confident. I’m looking at my tinder and as apposed to my normal self-doubting thoughts I’m thinking positive ones like “wow I must be quite the catch if I’ve already gotten two matches within 24 hours of resetting my account.” Or “I’m really glad I changed the profile picture to that one I look so much better.” I just feel really positive and happy. If anyone’s interested the meditation I used can be found through this link:
I’m not gonna promise any results, but for anyone struggling with sleep it’s worth a shot for at least falling asleep if nothing else.
