Should I start my lexapro?

I was prescribed lexapro like a month ago. I haven’t took it because I’m scared of side effects and it’s around the holidays. I have bad anxiety, depression and emetophobia. So when I feel nauseous I panic. They prescribed me 10mg of Lexapro and I take 45mg mirtazapine at night. If I do start it about how long do the side effects last? I know we’re all different. Also when do you take lexapro? I take mirtazapine at night so maybe I show take it in the morning? Also has anyone tried lexapro and it actually helped?

Hi avverie. I'll just share my experience with Lexapro. Like you said, everyone is different. I've been on Lexapro for at least 10 years and have not found any side effects that I could blame on it. Please don't read any list of side effects for it if you haven't already as none of them are serious. I take 20mg each morning and it has helped me consistently over the years, better than the other medications like it I've taken in the past. It's a good anti-depressant and helpful with the anxiety. It shouldn't ruin the holidays for you but expect results after a few weeks.
