This is my second post about the same problem that is insisting to not go away.
I've been having a weird type of shortness of breath for almost 4 weeks. The only other symptom I have is bloating and belching (burping all the time). After 2 visits to ER and several to my family doctor, they have already done several tests and they all came back normal: Chest X-rays (twice), EGC (twice), Stress Test (awesome results), Heart and Lung Ultrasound (no fluids), Abdominal Ultrasound, Barium Meal (Upper GI Series) and several blood tests. The only thing they found was fatty liver, a benign cyst on my left kidney and also that I have H Pylori. By the way, I already checked with 8 doctors from 2 different countries and they all told me I should relax about the cyst.
I am now taking 10 pills a day to fight H Pilory and other 2 pills for my regular anxiety. This is causing diarrhea, nausea and a strange taste in my mouth but to be honest I am glad they found out about this bacteria so it can be eliminated. Just for reference anywhere from 50 to 65% of the world population has this bacteria in their bodies.
However I am still worried about my shortness of breath. Honestly, at this point I am not living, but surviving. Not only the shortness of breath is debilitating but all I can thin about is that I have a hidden disease and that I am going to die at the age of 37. My work, family, social and sex life are badly affected.
I have an appointment with a gastro specialist in Feb. He wanted to scope my stomach yesterday but since I am on medication for H Pylori I need to wait for 2 months. My next shot is to see a doctor from Brazil via Skype who used to take care of me when I was living there years ago and he also treats my mom. It's going to cost me about $300 dollars but honestly I don't know what else to do.
I want to believe that maybe reflux (GERD) is causing it, but at the same time I keep thinking I may have cancer in my stomach or lungs even though all tests show opposite (x-rays, blood test and Barium Meal came back 100% normal). My family doctor keeps saying it's due to my anxiety but the symptoms are so real that I just don't believe him.
Can somebody please help. Even if it's just friendly answer I will appreciate at this point. I feel like crying all the time, especially when I look at my wife and kids.
Thanks
TC
