This is my second post about the same problem that is insisting to not go away.

I've been having a weird type of shortness of breath for almost 4 weeks. The only other symptom I have is bloating and belching (burping all the time). After 2 visits to ER and several to my family doctor, they have already done several tests and they all came back normal: Chest X-rays (twice), EGC (twice), Stress Test (awesome results), Heart and Lung Ultrasound (no fluids), Abdominal Ultrasound, Barium Meal (Upper GI Series) and several blood tests. The only thing they found was fatty liver, a benign cyst on my left kidney and also that I have H Pylori. By the way, I already checked with 8 doctors from 2 different countries and they all told me I should relax about the cyst.

I am now taking 10 pills a day to fight H Pilory and other 2 pills for my regular anxiety. This is causing diarrhea, nausea and a strange taste in my mouth but to be honest I am glad they found out about this bacteria so it can be eliminated. Just for reference anywhere from 50 to 65% of the world population has this bacteria in their bodies.

However I am still worried about my shortness of breath. Honestly, at this point I am not living, but surviving. Not only the shortness of breath is debilitating but all I can thin about is that I have a hidden disease and that I am going to die at the age of 37. My work, family, social and sex life are badly affected.

I have an appointment with a gastro specialist in Feb. He wanted to scope my stomach yesterday but since I am on medication for H Pylori I need to wait for 2 months. My next shot is to see a doctor from Brazil via Skype who used to take care of me when I was living there years ago and he also treats my mom. It's going to cost me about $300 dollars but honestly I don't know what else to do.

I want to believe that maybe reflux (GERD) is causing it, but at the same time I keep thinking I may have cancer in my stomach or lungs even though all tests show opposite (x-rays, blood test and Barium Meal came back 100% normal). My family doctor keeps saying it's due to my anxiety but the symptoms are so real that I just don't believe him.

Can somebody please help. Even if it's just friendly answer I will appreciate at this point. I feel like crying all the time, especially when I look at my wife and kids.

Thanks
TC

I have the same issue this morning woke up to make coffee and felt so short of breath that I drove to the er , by the time I got there I was okay Thanks to anti anxiety meds for intense panic . Usually I can talk myself outta the attacks but the relapse is hard this time ! I’m always here to talk because I think just like you and also have children . Just had a son in September and two weeks after my anxiety relapsed

You sound like your having some extremely bad anxiety i just went through this bout and it felt like to was something new and more scary then the last time and the shortness of breath was constant all day almost i knwo how you feel but you jave to convince yourself the doctors are doign their job and you need to do yours by letting yourself know its ok to be worried about your health but its not ok to let it debiltate you. If there is soemthign wrong you will know and the doctors will know. You don't have to be actively looking for distress an unhealthy mind will also cause physical pain amd sickness.

i have this right now constant burping and belching. this is due to acid reflux from the stomach going up the chest that's why it feels like it's hard to breathe. i also feel nauseous and lately i develop fear of eating food, scared i might throw up and now im losing weight.
like you i also fear the worst. i had done numerous bloodworks, abdominal ultrasound, CT-scan, stool occult test, h pylori test and they're all negative. i am scheduled for an endocsopy this december.
so right now im still bothered by my constant bloating, burping and gas. the nauseous feeling and loss of apetite. my stools are also yellowish light brown. i also experience poking gas pain in my stomach, sides and back. i dont know what more test i need to do to get over these.
im not sure if these are just all in my head or am i really sick. it's affecting my family too. hugs to you OP, i know how you feel. i'm wishing complete healing for both of us.

I dropped the burping as a nervous tick and i had bad bad panic disorder I finally got diagnosed . i was noticing trends in my behavior and triggers . thats where to start is learning your triggers then learning your behaviours and then not acknowledging your panic and your systematic behavior patterns that lead to more and more anxiety . i also watch what im eating alot now cause i know when i eat soemthing i feel like might make me anxious....makes me anxious other times I feel like im ok and eat it anyways. You cant reward your anxiety by reacting to it thats the best thing I've learned so far.

Anxiety sucks :( I have shortness of breath went to er and they said it was my anxeity than called the next day to tell me it could be the beginning of phenomena (lost my mind at that point cause I don’t want to be sick ) but my pcp said I’m not showing symptoms except the shortness of breath but that’s my anxiety . But now I can’t convince myself that’s it’s just my anxiety:( anyone think I should worry .

Breathing is one of those weird, subconscious actions that is often perfectly fine as long as we aren't thinking about it. However, as soon as we focus on our breathing rhythm, it all goes south quickly. The simply response is to change your focus but I know that's easier said than done.
