Anyone ever get head pains in the same spot, it's above my right ear and it's not a bad pain but enough to notice, it scares me because it's in the same place and has lasted for 2 days. I feel like I need to go to the hospital and get a CT, all I keep picturing in my mind is a team of doctors rushing into my ER room saying "we need to get him to the OR right NOW!" I can't even fathom the thought of having brain surgery. I'm sure I would litterly drop dead from a heart attack if I found out I needed brain surgery. I'm terrified this is a brain -A- word and is about to burst at any second....

Hi Shayne. I've had brain surgery from a brain bleed (different than an aneurysm) two years ago. My symptoms started out as a slight headache but what sent me to the hospital was a sudden problem being able to speak. Am not sure what's going on with your symptom but please, if you have any motor skill related symptoms, immediately head to medical care. I actually think you're fine but wanted to share my experience to help know what to look for.

It's called a "Brain Bleed". You pop a blood vessel, perhaps one weakened by an old injury....they couldn't tell why it started. Eventually the bleeding causes too much pressure and then motor skill problems start.

So it was kind of like an .A. word..but not?. -biting nails-
How old were you when that happened, does it run in your family? Do you know what kind of surgery they did, like was it clipped, or coiled?

Did you give u any kind of sedative before going into surgery, I can't imagine just casually walking into an operating room for brain surgery and being able to keep my cool. They have to give u Xanax or some kind of strong sedative before the anesthia right? Do you remember what kind of test they did that found the bleed, I know CTs are good at picking up bleeding in the brain, I really wanna get an angiogram, an MRA. But I'm terrified I'll have a bad reaction to the dye, but nonetheless it's a risk I'd be willing to take to know for sure there's no A words, and I'm pretty sure it's iodine they inject into u before the test. I remember reading somewhere that if you don't have a shellfish allergy then you should be ok to get the dye.

They did a CT scan and I was in the operating room within 15 minutes. I'm already on Klonopin, a sedative so I don't think they gave me anything else. For your head, a CT scan would give you a reliable idea if anything was up.

I've had over ten brain CTs in but none in the last 2 years, something could of developed in that time. I'm freaking out more and more, I've had kind of high blood pressure, lots of stress and it does seem like I've been getting headaches more often then usual...I feel like I'm at high risk for an A word...stress can be a big factor for them. How old were you when this happened triceps?

63 years old. Go get another negative CT scan so you can feel better.

Just the opposite Shayne, I think you're fine with a pain above your ear that will go away. Folks with health anxiety usually don't accept someone telling them they're fine so I suggested getting a CT scan to ease your mind. I personally don't even think you need a CT scan.
