Anxiety attacks and neck tension? Anyone else? Seems the more tense my shoulders are the more attacks I have...
Yes, I haven’t really slept in almost two months! Wake up every night at the same times between 2:45-4:30! Toss and turn! I’m so exhausted... which makes my neck worse then I have anxiety Attacks in the middle of Walgreens! Ugh!TLC, hi..
my first symptom was dizziness.. so I went to an ear doc (suspecting it might be an inner ear issue). The doctor ruled out an inner ear disturbance, but noticed how stiff my neck was.. He administered a couple trigger point injections at the base of my neck. My injection sites were tender, but my neck muscles relaxed almost instantly. It cleared up my dizziness for the next 8 months. But I noticed it re-stiffening & I started developing killer insomnia.
I believe neck stiffness is a symptom of nervous tension. The doc was wise to diagnose & treat me with the shots.. but I think we both mistakenly overlooked the root cause (anxious tension). I'm now treating the neck tension more holistically, albeit imperfectly.. stretching, relaxation, prayer, staring less @ computer screen, etc..
There's info online about trigger points, daily neck stretches, etc..
