This sorta reminds me of a time where I scraped my knee against a sharp piece of wood in my home, did my regular routine of complaining of how much it hurt/washing it etc... By tomorrow the cut was already starting to heal, but did you know by that time I had so much on my mind that I didn't even remember that it happened? I just happened to look at my leg noticed the cut and that sent me into a panic attack. It's almost silly to rationalize it now, but back then I was genuinely terrified something had happened to me and I had only days to live due to it possibly being an infected cut, imagined every worst situation possible.
My point being is that when you're in the rabbit hole, almost nothing logical will sound correct to you, you can't rationalize it because by textbook definition your fear is irrational. Fear is a powerful emotion it takes hold of us, and for some people it can root them in their lives and they can't get any joy... all they think about is what they're afraid of. You can't always trust your fear when you're in a state like this. Normal anxiety is good and healthy because it makes us aware and keeps us on our toes. But what many of us sufferers go through (chronic stress/anxiousness) is not normal and not healthy.
I think you took the necessary steps to assuage any potential illness, the trouble you will have is letting go of the fear. It's hard I know.. I've had a fear of many illnesses over the past five years: ALS, MS, Glaucoma, Retinopathy, Diabetes, Cancer, Lupus, Rabies (yes, even this), I even found a tick on my leg one summer and began dreading I had untreated Lyme disease despite no symptoms ever appearing.
Anxiety disorders are powerful mimics, and if you have a legitimate concern, you should talk to your doctor open and honestly about how you feel and how they can help you get closure. But once you get that closure the ball is in your court to let go of the fear you cling to.
