Scared of my headaches

I have been having pounding headaches that originates from the left part of my neck, for days. It goes away when I take pills, but comes back the next day. This has rarely happened, so I'm kind of worried.
It is exam period, so could it be caused by the constant neck strain from revision and doing exam papers?
Also, I am having a cold right now, with sore throat and nothing else.
I have had migraines before, but recently headaches (not migraines) that go on for days have been happening a bit more.
    What is happening to me?

It sounds like stress and tension to me. Try rolling your neck around in a circle to exercise it a bit. Somehow, I seem to have pulled a muscle in the base of my neck and every so often I roll it around in like a circle to help the muscle a bit. You could also try hot baths with relaxing bath salts like lavender will help to ease it a bit. It could be because you have a cold as well. A pounding head is awful I know, but keep up with your revision and the exams will be over and you will have done your best.

Thanks... My headache has gotten better even since I took a long nap. I agree it is tension-related, probably caused by neck strain. I'll let you know when anything new pops up, or when I'm fully recovered. :)

That is good, I am so pleased that you are feeling better. Nothing is worse than when you don't feel yourself and coupled with anxiety.
