Hey is it normal to have a pulse in your abdomen definitely in sync with your heartbeat? This morning I woke up in a fit of anxiety due to some dull abdominal pain in my LLQ and a broken up bm and really noticed it throbbing. I’ve always kinda noticed this throbbing and thought it would be related to IBS so I mistakingly googled it and all kinds of horrifying stuff popped up and now I’m afraid I have a bowel obstruction due to my mix of loose bowels and pellet stools (though I still pass a normal amount and am able to have complete bowel movements). Just need some reassurance! BTW I have had my symptoms since February

Hi Future. You've stated the best reassurance you will find:" (though I still pass a normal amount and am able to have complete bowel movements)."

I'm no doctor but with a bowel obstruction I don't think you would pass anything. In my opinion I think you are okay, just the normal stuff we get with anxiety.

I’m sure Doctor Google also mentioned something called a “bounding pulse” which sounds horrific and terrifying but it just ultimately means “a pulse you can see”
If you don’t have a lot of belly fat seeing your pulse in your tummy is normal. I used to think it was the coolest thing when I was about 18. I would suck in really tight and be like “LOOK MY HEART IS IN MY STOMACH!”
It’s just another major pulse point like your neck, wrist or feet.

Completely normal - especially if you are slender. As far as a bowel obstruction, I highly doubt you have that but does seem like your IBS is flaring up
