I am entering my 3dr week at my new job. Though this is only part time (retail) I can't help feeling anxious, especially right before I have to clock in. The people I work with are super helpful as far as my training goes and they're friendly enough. I am currently training at a different store while I await the opining of my permanent store. The job itself is a lot of fun and once I clock in my anxiety mellows quite a bit. Surprisingly, being a cashier is my favorite par of the work. My problem is the pre-work anxiety which is pretty bad. Like now, I will be starting work 9 hours from now and my anxiety is already pretty high. A bit of background: I was diagnosed with SAD nearly 20 years ago and for the last 7 years I was out of a job because my anxiety was so bad it was eating me alive! I feel that this job will take me places as I hope I can work my way up the management ladder. The only thing that stands in my way is my anxiety. Is there something you do to calm pre-work anxiety or just anxiety in general? I need all the advice I can get because there have been times in the past when my pre-work anxiety got so bad I ended-up quitting please help!
