Hello.. wanted to get other people’s experiences with the physical symptoms. Sometimes I feel like my face/cheeks go numb. It can last all day sometimes. Then I find myself constantly rubbing my cheek/face which I feel is making it worse. Anyone else experience anything similar. Sometimes I can’t tell if the anxiety is causing the feelings in my face, and if I’m making it worse, or if it’s an indicator of an actual problem. I’ve suffered from anxiety for years but this sensation has been newer in the past couple of months.

Cait41, do you notice your face and cheeks feeling like they're going numb when you are having a nerve wracking and stressful day, or can it occur even when you're calm?

I have the similar stuff. Slightest of anger or worry may make me feel I have tight spots on my face. Or like a cold drop of water on my face

I get that too. It probably has to do with your body decreasing blood flow to the surface to help you survive an injury. Almost all physical anxiety symptoms actually have a helpful effect in the context where they helped our ancestors survive. It's just misdirected in our modern lives.

I had those exact feels a while ago, but it was the time when I start taking my BP meds, so I think it could be that. I had them couple of times again but for a short period.

I go through that to . Mines is random. My doctor says it's just symptoms of Anxiety. Which for me started Christmas Day. After a night of drinking. My face goes numb my hands go numb. I feel like someone's shooting cold water into my veins, I feel like I have too throw up and poop at the same time . I just started therapy, they ask me why or if I'm worried, i say no there's nothing going on. Like for today for example, I'm away Walmart looking at board games, and out of know where it's like i hit a wall of anxiety. I start to feel numbness in my hands on my face. Anyone else go through that ? Im tired guys of fighting this everyday i really am . I need help.

I am itchy all of the time from my anxiety! It can cause some pretty weird stuff to my body. It can convince us that we have a terminal disease as well.

I get numbness in my hands and feet. I also get that aggravating twitching . Sometimes my thighs look like they are pulsating a symphony.

It gets better. I promise it does. Many of us suffer the rest of our lives but there are tools that help, the long exhale, mind distraction, gym time, many things you will find that will indeed help you. I too at times feel Like I can't go on but somehow, someway, I keep goin! Almost like a machine. This is my 25th year fighting this fight. I keep goin for my family, not for me, but because they need me and love me. Please , keep up the fight. Learn to combat it. Check out anxiety slayer on Facebook they can show u many things to help and its free.
