Pain under left ribs

So for the past 3 months I have had this left sided pain. I determined finally that it was from trapped gas that seems to get stuck in that area for some reason. I had an abdominal X-ray that confirmed it and showed SO much air in my intestines, particularly on the left side. They didn’t find anything else and they also did bloodwork which was normal.

I guess my question is, has anyone ever had ibs or another issue from a bout of anxiety that caused gas to just collect on one side or the other causing them pain for months? I’d love to trust my doctor and believe it’s just some kind of ibs related problem, but it just seems so weird to me..

Yes. I always got that when I had acid reflux. Found there was little I could really do about it. Now I am on medication for my stomach full time. Due to a burst ulcer. Not sure if this type of medication works for trapped gas. If it did they would have suggested it to you when you were having your tests done. I was forever saying that it simply felt like trapped gas. My own issues were a big bit different than your own. But the gas side of things was always there. I would ask your doctor is there anything you can get for it. See what he says. At worst he can say no. At best he can give you something.

I have been dealing with rib pains some 10 years +. When I turn my torso too fast or when I laugh too hard. It's a pain that takes your breath away, like it presses you.

I don't know about gas as I get that from magnesium supplement but anxiety has caused me to get pain under ribs on both sides. Does getting gas out relieve the pain?

This happens to me all the time, and it happens in the same spot every time! It always goes away though :)
