When I am being tortured I pace, walk and drive...sometimes all day. Anyone else had to do this?

It’s a way your mind tries to control something when it feels it has no control

Ever ask yourself ' what would happen if I did not do any of those things '. If I just stayed were I am and done something else instead. Maybe find a hobby. You feel like you have to do something, try out the new hobby. That would be your way of taken control back. Doing something you really want to do. Instead of pacing, which is nothing really, driving, which is probably costing you fuel money. Spend that money on something else. You must have something you like doing?

I dont think you understand how severe the agitation is - like I have been lit on fire

Sounds like you need medicinal intervention. Something to stop the attacks when they start. If these attacks are affecting your life extensively, I’d see a psychiatrist. There’s no shame in getting a little help.

I used medical intervention in 2007 with Xanax and then Klonopin - stopped working and it took me 3 years of hideous withdrawals to recover ( go to Benzo Buddies - thousands of people in the same condition) Then 2012 went on antidepressants and went through 14 months of withdrawal worse than any anxiety - was also hospitalized at age 19 for anxiety and given shock therapy so I know the long term damage medicine and medical doctors offer

So medication is out. Medical doctors are out. Has therapy ever been tried? i know this means sitting still for long periods and talking. case of what other answers are there out there? Meditation I am guessing would not work for you either. As that involves just sitting there too. Ever trying something like boxing / MMA? Punchbag or something similar. Simply punch yourself out. As in try burn off the agitation. It is like you are looking for answers, but have tried all the regular things people will suggest and found they done you more harm than good.

I have been through years of therapy and was 100% Ok until my wife was diagnosed with late stage cancer. I was doing good after her surgery and at 8 months she was in remission - then I crashed hard now for 5 months. Not sure why I held together for that long then lost it.

I am a disabled veteran with a bad ankle so I can only walk about half mile
