This is why I'm always bugging my doctor trying to figure out if I have a real problem or it's just anxiety symptom.

The cited article has a short list of sleep symptoms.. I started experiencing a sleep symptom a couple weeks ago.. It's not in this list, & I'm curious if any other posters have had similar experience (or a diagnosis):
A few minutes into sound sleep (often less than 15 minutes after dozing off, but sometimes already dreaming). I'm awakened by a sensation of a heavy liquid being poured over the top of my head.. that stops around my shoulders. No pain, it's not startling.. but it's disrupting my sleep pattern & total sleep time (?)
In a search all I basically found was a theory about being spiritually stimulated thru the crown of the head. But it feels spiritually neutral, & my wife thinks it's maybe a release of anxious tension induced by the peace of sleep..

Any thoughts/advice ?

Hi He Man. What a strange sensation. I like your wife's explanation. My only advice is to expect it to happen, not get too freaked out by it and it might become less disruptive to your sleep pattern. Or if it regularly continues, try to accept it as part of your new sleep pattern. When you get older, like really old, like me, all of a sudden you have to get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. Nothing spiritual about it except my feeble attempt to fill the Porcelan God. It's just my new sleep pattern that I'll have to accept. I'm just glad I wake up for it.

Hi Kelculator. A legend in my own mind perhaps. I played slo-pitch softball for many years. I was the last one on the team to finally hit a home run and my teammates started calling me "biceps". That was my username for a long time but I was getting contacted by actual body builders (mostly from Europe for some reason) and switched to "triceps". The emails quit coming as nobody was doing searches for triceps. I ended up hitting a whopping total of 3 homes runs over the 30 years of softball playing.

Haha, that was quite an origin! That was amazing. Imagine someone searching for people with great triceps though. I would have lost my mind laughing when the time comes. I love those "whopping" home runs!

Have you ever done a sleep study? I was waking frequently with tremors, and it turns out I had mild sleep apnea. Nothing serious - my heart was not at risk, etc. But my sleep was definitely being interrupted constantly. Since treating that, my anxiety has lessened considerably. Plus the CPAP masks are GREAT for your love life. :D ( definitely kidding)
