History - I have had anxiety for over 25 years. I have been to counseling over the years and yes I have been taking medicine over the years and supplements. I do exercise and do things that I enjoy. My family and wife are very supportive.

I recently was a bad car accident where I was t-boned and luckily I will be ok.

My anxiety has increased since the accident and for what I went thru I think I am doing ok with my anxiety. I just feel like I have lingering anxiety that goes up and down. The type of anxiety is nothing new. The reason my anxiety increased which I think was the accident is new. Meaning I have never been in a car accident.

I want to go back where my anxiety goes away for months instead of just lingering. My panic attacks have decreased but my anxiety hasn’t. I was hoping my anxiety would decrease as time went on since I have a lot of coping mechanisms and I know that the feelings of not breathing or thinking something is wrong with my heart are just part of the anxiety.

Has anyone else felt this way?

Yes. This accident is enough to rattle one pretty good. I’m not surprised you Anxiety exacerbated. I would recommend the work of Dr Claire Weekes. She developed an acceptance method for anxiety recovery. I’ve been using the method and find it to be very effective. She has videos on YouTube. She was a suffer of anxiety herself.
