Currently worried about my tongue right now. I've been noticing it for days and have passed it off as anxiety, but I'm truly so worried. Especially when things mess with your taste buds, it tends to mean something. I saw a post talking about over 100 symptoms that can be associated with anxiety. I'm trying to not worry about it. But it's so hard. It feels.. I don't know. Its like I don't feel it. It feels like how your tongue feels after lots of sour candy and its kinda raw and numb-ish. But it doesn't hurt. No pain at all. But it worries me because, along with other symptoms, it can be associated with a brain eating ameoba infection. Which worries me the most because of the mortality rates. And how fast it is. How fast it can take over. That's the one that worries me the most. And that site shut down, that showed me all those symptoms. So I can't revisit it.

Hi again Grace - if you’re talking about Anxiety Central when you’re referring to the website that shut down, they are actually back up and running if you want to go back.
But anyways, back to your worry. The only infections of the brain that I’ve ever heard of or feared are meningitis, and sinus infection that have spread to the brain.
When it comes to meningitis, I would assume that you’re vaccinated against it, and the only way you can contract it is when you come into contact with someone who has meningitis and their bodily fluids or if they are a carrier of the bacteria (aka their saliva, feces, anything from when they cough or sneeze).
The case of the sinus infection I’m talking about happened to a friend of mine who was experiencing “flu-like” symptoms, which it doesn’t sound like that’s what you’re experiencing.
Unless your condition continues to deteriorate, which I assume it won’t, I’d think it would be safe to say that this is chalked up to anxiety. And you’ve also had every test under the sun done. Surely something would’ve been found.
