Now prescribed buspirone

Good morning everyone!

I have always suffered from anxiety, but the last couple of months it has been unbearable. I believe it is due to th fact that I am getting married next month. The severe symptoms started at my shower, I couldn’t even leave the bathroom because my head was spinning and all I wanted to do was throw up. After that day, it has been unbearable almost everyday, and I do not have an appetite to eat anymore. My doctor prescribed me buspirone today and wants me to take it 2-3 times a day.

My question is, is anyone taking this and seen results? My biggest thing is having severe anxiety attacks the day of my wedding to the point where I won’t be able to enjoy it, I am most nervous about the nauseousness. Did this medication help anyone with that?

It didn't help me, but I know people that it has helped

It was prescribed to me recently, 2 times per day. I just had my follow up appointment yesterday, and we upped my dosage just a smidge. It is helping me, but we think I need a bit more.

I haven't been having as many panic attacks since taking it, but I still come close. It took about 2 weeks for me to see results.

I have been prescribed 5mg twice a day, and to take a third if I’m having a really bad day. Do you get extremely nauseated from your anxiety? Have you noticed this medication helping?

buspirone seemed very mild to me so it will depend how strong your anxiety is. i hope you are also doing some talk therapy about prioritizing the perfect wedding over your health and some decisions you could make to be sure you feel healthy and happy on the day you get married
