I haven't given medicine a chance to do its job for months. I never had the will to do so. I had to work hard, climb ladders, stay focused etc. My employer gave me a week to get used to the med. I've needed this time to function on a new med. It's so hard trying to do what we have to do while waiting for side effects to leave, and get better. My anxiety with startups are always the side effects, how will they affect me? Are they safe. It's an old tricyclic drug. ALOTTA drowsiness in the mornings, to the point of feeling hungover and then panicky. On this drug I can't drink grapefruit juice or take epinephrin or adrenaline. I'm a little shaken just over it. But panic has gotten somewhat worse but I've only been on it a couple days. I guess I need some reassurance that giving time to things like this is the most important thing. Doc also upped another med, took away another on a pretty fast schedule. Need some thoughts guys.

Not all medication has to bring about side effects. I find with some people that they are expecting side effects. Rather than just taken the medication and seen what happens, without any knowledge of side effects. I never read up on side effects at all. Always toss that leaflet in the bin. Last lot of medication I ever started I never had any side effects at all. I am not saying there will not be any side effects. There might be a few. but if you are sitting there waiting for side effects, I am sure there will be a lot more than normal. Bit like taken some medication and just sitting there waiting for something to happen. At times, the less we know the better. But it can differ from person to person. What you might feel on something, the next person in might feel nothing at all. Or they might even feel worse. Just think some people have a higher tolerance to medication than others.

Very true buddy. I'm 6'1", 268 pnds and have a very small tolerance to medicine. My doc told me once he had an 80 year old grandma that takes triple the dose of Klonopin and ssri's I take. I think your right though.
