Hi! My name is Andrea. I'm a 27 year old freelance artist and costume maker. I also work with (and own) 80's pizza place animatronics like the Rock-afire Explosion.

I am diagnosed with GAD and depression, both of which I have been struggling with for a decade.

I had my first panic attack this past Thursday and I feel like my anxiety has doubled. I can't get back on meds until May 8th and I've been killing myself consulting Dr Google with my symptoms. I found this forum and thought it was be a good outlet to discuss my anxiety, read about others experiences and ease my mind that I'm not dying from heart failure lol.

Hi and welcome PurpleCobra. I also have GAD, depression and panic disorder. Forget Dr. Google. If you also had health anxiety you'd be worrying about some major disease along with your heightened anxiety. Can I ask why you're out of meds until May? That certainly could be a contributing factor. The very good news is that you survived (and always will) your first panic attack. Just my opinion, but when you can get to the point of not worrying about your next panic attack, your level of anxiety will lessen. The damn things really make you question your heart's condition as you feel like you might be having a heart attack during the panic. Again, welcome, you at a very compassionate, informative site.

I actually haven't been on anxiety meds since 2015. I recently got health insurance again, but the psychiatrist is completely booked until May.

Do you have a family physician willing to prescribe some anti-anxiety meds? Mine doesn't have any qualms about prescribing lexapro and klonopin for me. I would think they'd take into consideration that you were on them previously.
