Hello. I am not sure where to start but thought I would introduce myself. I have been looking for an online community to join for anxiety for a while, and after facing some triggers recently, finally decided to get started. Also, I don't have much support when it comes to anything emotional.

For me, most of it is general anxiety. I am also finding that I worry about health much more than I used to (and tend to assume the worst). All this just causes more stress and anxiety.

I look forward to being part of the forum.

Welcome! Lists of nice folks here. I’d like to start off by recommending two great books. It’s Only Anxiety by Carl James and Hope and Help For Your Nerves by Dr Claire Weekes . Dr Weeks is renowned for her work on anxiety, having suffered from it herself. She developed a program using acceptance as a way to recover from anxiety disorders. There is nothing required but your willingness to focus on the method and practice it. Nothing else. I’ve been using the method and it does work. James’ book is a condensed version of Dr Weekes method, getting right to the point. I highly recommend both, Dr Weekes give more information in her book that is great for learning about how anxiety affects us.

Yeah!! Welcome. I doubt you will find a better and more helpful bunch of folk than on here. GAD is often accompanied by health anxiety.
The books recommended are definitely a must in anxiety. Have a rant or unload whenever you want. We are all good listeners.

They don't seem to be they are! I have been on other anxiety websites but this one is the best. No judgements or criticism. You are in the right place for sure. I have found on other sites that after a while a certain indifference sets in. Sad but true. There is no substitute for experience, and we sure have that. Don't feel shy or embarrassed. Some find it difficult to unload to strangers, but we are not strangers, we are all in the same boat. There is no one here who has not been where you are now!
