Hello all. Quick back story..for the past cpl years I've had stomach issues. Treated for h. Plylori for an ulcer, gallbladder removed for stones, taken omeprazole, and had 2 scopes down my throat (last was about a year ago). All has been well for some time until the past approx. 2 weeks and I've been having stomach pain. Went to my reg dr, he did a bunch of labs and called todsy to say labs are stable so we'll wait a couple weeks to see if stomach pain resolves. If not he'll consider starting me on levsin, which I believe relaxes stomach muscles. I checked my labs online and noticed my CRP is elevated. Normal range is less than 8 and mine is 14.5 and it has me freaking out. I'm thinking horrible thoughts like stomach C and can't seem to talk myself off this ledge.

Yours is high but...let me ask you something??
Were you anxious during the examination? While your doctor was taking a blood. ..were you panicked about the possible outcome?
If so... any sufferer from anxiety and depression also tend to harbor high levels of cortisol . Your CRP levels are generally high when inflamation is present in the body. The higher the stress levels.. the higher the inflammation. ...the higher the CRP levels.

I didn't feel particularly panicked at the doctor, but have been pretty anxious about the stomach pain in general for the last 7-10 days. There are moments at home when I'll be nearly in tears with worry, but wasn't feeling near tears at the dr, though still worried. I'm trying to take solace in the fact that my dr wasn't concerned about it. Thank you so much for your response.

Hello Irishonyx33. I'm going through the same stomach issues except I don't have pain. My stomach issues came out of nowhere! Around March 4th I started feeling as if I couldn't burp or pass gas...it was as if I had trapped gas in my stomach. Then to make matters worse I started feeling this really odd sensation of my stomach muscles becoming tight. I also feels heaviness in my upper stomach. It's really hard to explain. My stool is not like it use to be either. I've been to Urgent care the dr. diagnosed me with Gerd and prescribed Omeprazole for 2 weeks and said if things are not better to follow up with GP. I started googling my symptoms and totally convinced myself that I stomach cancer. My anxiety got the better of me and I insisted that my husband take me to the ER. I had labs, EKG, ultrasound, and an x ray. The ER dr. was young but very attentive and allayed my fears of stomach cancer. Two days later I was in a panic all over again because I googled how to diagnose stomach cancer and it said that by an endoscopy or biopsy. I have 3 children that I want to see grow up. I am 100% convinced that it's not going to be good news for me. I have a consult with the GI doctor April 22 . I have been on Omeprazole for almost three weeks now and it's not working...which means that it's not an acid issue. The ER dr. diagnoses was gastritis. My question to him was wouldn't I be in some kind of pain. He said not necessarily. I am convinced that I'm dying. I wish you the best...

My anxiety has always decided to take itself out on my GI tract from gastritis to full on blockages. I wouldn't panic too much just yet and trust in your doctor. Also, and you don't have to answer it you're not comfortable, but are you overweight at all? I did a little research and sometimes extra weight can increase those levels. Also, infections can too so if H. pylori is back it could be immune system fighting it off.

Hello Guen. I'm 5 feet 2 inches and weigh 108 pounds. I've been looking at YouTube videos of people talking about their experience with H pylori and I must admit that I have very similar symptoms except for pain. I have my GI doctors appointment next week and I'll ask the doctor if I could be tested for H pylori.

I’m in the same boat as you my friend. About ten years ago I had crazy symptoms. All of them pointed to something very scary. I had many tests done. First, I visited my primary doctor at the time. He ran tests ad they ended up coming back normal. However, being that the Dr. had somewhat of an attitude I changed physicians. My symptoms continued and my new Dr proceeded with more tests. Even referring me to a GI doctor. The GI doctor continued with his own tests. He ordered an MRI be done along with a series of other tests. Again, normal. Over time, I kept retiring to the ER. I felt like I lived in there I was there so much. Tests upon tests UPON tests. Now, it seems like my nightmare has returned. After 10-11 years. I’m in a very bad place mentally. I have a Dr. appointment at 3:50pm PT in about 2hrs. I dread going. If you need someone to talk to let a guy know. I wish you all the best.

Hello crz1100. What are your symptoms?
Weight loss despite eating, muscle fatigue, tiredness, muscle twitching, diarrhea (almost like grease in stool) < sorry if that’s to much info. It was a very scary/bad time for me. It was a downright nightmare. All was great for 10-11 maybe even 12 years but.... unfortunately, my nightmare has returned. I’m a very scared man. My happiness is gone. My mind is now racing. My thoughts are in a frenzy. I had an appointment yesterday and the physician ordered various blood tests (many of them if not all that are available) and a urine test. They are pending. Idk what to do. I feel like my pillars of strength have left me as I usually walk with pride and with my head up high and stand strong and sturdy. I hope all of you are having a better time as I wouldn’t wish this on anyone.

Focus on the good for now brother, the tests have been all clear as of now and I’m sure they’re just running the rest to rule out anything and give you peace of mind. I’ve had muscle twitches for over 10 years off and on so if they were going to kill me I’m sure they would have by now. I have a buddy with PTSD who’s had diarrhea for a decade. When I was at my most stressed a couple months ago I had the same thing. My bowels weren’t 100% normal and I had diarrhea. Then I had one large normal one that was painful and there was blood (sorry if graphic) which spiked absolute panic. But my GI symptoms subsided and the blood did not reappear. I’ve also lost weight before a couple years ago (about 15 pounds) although it may have been because I was working out more and eating better, but I still lost it in an alarming amount of time.

Basically what I’m saying is I’ve either had, or known somebody with, all pf the symptoms you describe. I know it’s hard to be logical. Believe me, I’ve been suffering for years. But I do know it helps to hear other people with similar experiences. You’re stronger than I am though, I’m afraid to even go back to the doctors haha!

I’m afraid to go back as well. I’m just very sad as
I have a 10 year old son that means the world to me and the thought of leaving him behind saddens me deeply. I don’t know what to do anymore. You know, I thought I was a big strong man before. I’m not that anymore.

I understand, I’m in the same boat. Always considered myself an A-type person but it’s crazy that something so intangible can beat a strong person down

Hello crz1100. Thanks for responding. I feel sad knowing that other people are suffering the way I am. I have my GI appointment on Monday morning. I'm terrified to go to the consult. So sure that it's cancer or ALS. my stomach muscles are very tight. I wish all of you the very best. I'll try to be more positive.

Trust me, you’re definitely not alone. Im also awaiting results although I might not wait that long and go in to the ER to get them sooner. Again, something I dread immensely.

Keep us posted on how the results go, wish you the best and hopefully you can get your mind off it in the meantime.
