So I got a new cat today, excited about that. But tonight my cat woke me up with loud meowing. She even followed me when I stood up to do some things. The previous owner said she was talkative, still. I feel like all the reason she woke me up because maybe something was wrong with me? Must be. She has her water and food bowl filled, she pooped that day. She had an infinite number of places she can sleep. It reminds me of things I read on accident sometimes. That a cat can sense death and be around the person. So naturally I'm thinking, what on earth could be going on with me? The only thing that happened was I took a Zyrtec, to keep pet allergies at bay. I take that and Zoloft and they don't inerfere in any big ways, just more drowsiness. But now I kinda worry.

Cats will do what they do. Might have heard a noise. Hence she done what she done. Following you because of what she heard. She only safety been around you. Nothing more.

I don’t think you’re particularly at risk of dying just because your cat likes to follow you. Also, congrats! I have always wanted a cat (as profile picture shows ;) ).

Grace, I hope that you having the new cat as your pet will work out well for you. Pets can really be a ray of sunshine.

My cat meows all the time. Sometimes cats just cry, or like being around thier owners. She's just in a new place and is talking to you. I'm certain your going to be fine.
