Yes I do and now diarrhea too. However I think it's unrelated I think it's brought on by all my severe anxiety about it. On the 24th I go to the doctor for my cholesterol check and yearly blood work and I'll ask about it and let you know

Ok thanks a lot. I hope it goes well, though I don't have too much discomfort at under rib now, and stitch pain is sorta not there. But I still experience the slight balloon feeling.

Mine changes daily. Sometimes stitches, sometimes bloating and sometime sharp pains. Do you ever get sharp abdominal pains?

No I dont, just a slight stinging feeling just under my right rib. No major sharp abdominal pain. But I do get back pain and actually upper back, right backside of that rib area.
I don't really know all are related. As I said before, this might be an extended IBS flare up for me. As I tend to get loose stools also from time to time, it's nothing new for me.

It will be two weeks soon I think.
I don't constantly have pain there but it is a very uncomfortable feeling I experience. Like slight stabbing especially very noticeable when I bend forward so my knees/legs put pressure in my abdomen. I have gallbladder sludge.
My back at the same level hurts also. I have soo much gas and I am bloated, also belching often :/ I am trying not to come up with creative worries or assume that it is liver/pancreas related but... would a trapped gas stay that long time?

I experience lots of trapped gas and I have IBS, the same as my mom. But I am worried that this is taking so long to get better.
It went away for me on its own. It's an odd sensation almost makes you want to grab ahold of the bottom of your rib and pull whatever is in you out. I've read a million forums where noone ever finds an answer to this problem. They even get their gallbladder taken out and it doesn't go away. People get freaked out thinking that it's their liver gallbladder etc. In my non medical-hypochondriatic experience it's nothing more than psycho somatic. Chances are your ibs is irritating that part of your large intestine and or stomach acid that lies under your right rib cage like most normal people with ibs. It's an odd feeling because If your like me you are super sensitive to slight body aches, pinches, whatever. IBS also causes frequent gassiness and bloat! What most people would think is hmmm, that's an odd feeling, then go on eating there dinner and watching TV. Me or you on the other hand make it out to be a complex disease. I can seriously feel just the slightest uncomfortable sensation and my mind already starts ruminating. Then that sensation is pinpointed by my mind with great focus. Further enforcing the slight pain or pinch. I'm not saying it's nothing, go see your doc. You will most likely be fine. But I also whole heartily believe, it's only worse in your perception.

Thanks a lot, Matticus for your insightful and informative post.
Yes I actually have read about a subtype of IBS which is called splenic flexure syndrome and hepatic flexure syndrome, a group of disturbing digestive symptoms only appear in the corners of a colon. So in our case it can be the hepatic one hence the location.
But the problem is I am so stiff and irritated about this slight pain issue there, now that area feels bruised (as in pain and tenderness). even a slightly moving around can make it hurt a bit. but then it goes away.
I think you are very right, most of these sensations we are experiencing are exaggerated. But I will see how it goes, mine is not getting worse for now.
I just get a little panicked when I feel the same pain on my back side same location, and it hurts like there is something inside.
Thanks really.

I completely understand I used to poke and push and prod it and then wondered why there was some uncomfortableness. And I also associated the pain with alot of tension in my oblique. There are a ton of muscles connecting that area to your rib cage and easy to aggravate. Costocondritis.

Jgriffin you mentioned that you would ask your Dr about this issue, I am just wondering how it went.
Can you update us please when you have a chance to talk to the Dr? Thank you <3

I am still going through this but it's not getting worse it's the same level of discomfort especially when I stretch or move. I just sometimes have slight stabbing (not as in stabbing stomach pain but more like stabbing nerve stinging feeling) in that area also. Otherwise, I don't have other liver-related symptoms. I also just looked at my blood results from 2 months ago, it has both Liver enzyme and albumin levels in normal range.

Yes so wish I had more answers. My blood work looked good. They said intercostal muscle strain. I accept that because when I touch ribs there tender. What I don't get is the side stitches I feel and random pains to right of belly button. Hmmmm they say maybe abdominal tear. If this hasn't been going on for almost 8 weeks I may by that. Do you have any abdominal pains or spasms

Thanks a lot for the update
Did they do a physical examination? To feel the liver I mean.

I don't have much stomach pain other than my regular digestion and gas issues, though I have back pain on the same level right side. It doesn't happen every day but I assume this trouble being a muscular issue sounds logical to me as my discomfort mostly comes when I stretch and usually when I lie down and during sleep, it disappears. And back pain also disappears. Though I sometimes have that throbbing feeling right under the rib and gurgling sounds which make me think that this is a digestive issue.
My discomfort is not severe pain, it's just that dull feeling, more like happens when I move or use those muscles.
It's been 6 or 7 weeks for me also.
I think if your Dr was suspecting a liver issue, he would ask for further imaging tests? I guess they would.

Edit: Dr. Google says such strains if moderate or severe, may take 10 weeks or so to heal.
This reminds me, we are always touching and feeling the area. In case if it's a strain, this will make the feeling worse.

They felt under the rib to see if I reacted to pressure on my liver. I didn't. They think the pains there are muscular.

Yes most likely then. I think it's best to wait and see if it gets better in time.

Same here. It all started in 2019 when i got mesenteric adenitis and my pancreas swell a bit. It wasn't painful but i did get a fever for 3 or 4 days. After 2 weeks, i started with some kind of brain dog that basically never goes away. After a month i started having pain on my back on the bottom right side. All different kinds, first it was dull in the front right side. Sometimes felt like a balloon. Did all the tests under the sun. Liver, pancreas, blood tests, gallbalder, kidneys, spleen, weird blood disorders, you name it.The only abnormal thing is that sometimes i have constipation. Drs dont know what it is, I pretty much give up now. Its been more than 2 years now, brain fog has gotten better. Pain feels more like numbness at the very bottom on my ribs, it comes and goes. I also noticed that im more anxious and hypochondriac since i was in the hospital. Never been diagnosed but its definitely a personality change. Anxiety, stress, focusing on the pain makes it worse. I also tend to get generalized back pain, including lower back. Which has led me to believe this is 100% anxiety.

Well an update, around 3 weeks ago I started eating low carb. What I mean with that is not exactly Keto because my fat intake is quite low as I try to lose weight, so I can't do the typical Keto macros. So I try not to go over 20 grams of carbs daily and I eat extremely natural and clean so that I can count the carbs and calories.
But since I cut carbs, my right sided pain disappeared, also my acid reflux is gone. So it was probably digestion related, your's too. Most likely.
and PS: I have IBS.
